When you are doing the installation just keep in mind this, the battery will NEVER be connected directly to the ON/Off switch, it would melt it. The On/Off switch can't handle that amount of current flowing through it over a period of time. You could use a fuse to restrict the amount of current, but then you'll be able to turn on and off your foglights with the truck off, which is not a good idea.

That is why the relay is there, so the on/off switch does not have to deal with that high amount of current from the battery.

The switch will be receiving current from the fuse TAIL 10A (the one I used) when the switch is ON, it will allow that current to continue to flow to the relay. Once it reaches the relay, it "tells" the relay to send current from the battery to the foglights.

NOTE: this way of wiring the foglights you will only be able to turn on the fog lights, when your headlights are ON.

    So in short

positive battery terminal needs to be connected to relay NEVER directly to the on/off switch

the On/Off switch should be powered from another source, preferably a fuse from the fuse box or a wire which only has power when the truck is turned on

Its the fuse box inside the truck, not the one in the engine bay.
Behind the little compartment door in the left side of the steering wheel.

I would connect grounds first and power last.

I am going to purchase this kit. Just a few questions, how do I connect the ebay wiring harness to the stock oem switch? Thanks.

edit: EPA, first off, thank you. Second, all the wiring in your pics looks oem, is that how the wiring came, or did you wrap it all up like that? Also, the pic with the fog light by the battery, what is that connected to? Thanks.

There is a connector that plugs into oem switch and 4 pigtails that you get from the dealer. The 4 pigtails push into the connector then you connect wiring to them. There are part numbers for these somewhere in here, maybe in the first part of this thread. I need another set of these to connect my Hellas to the 2nd oem switch I have.

    Here are the part numbers..............

Part Number for plug if you already have the switch: 90980-11090,
Part Number for wires with pins that go in the plug: 82998-12340 4 required

See post #5 in 1st page of this thread for wiring diagrams.

Thanks man. What about this kit, it looks as though it has an oem style switch that will fit in the factory slot. Also, it seems pretty much plu and play. i really dont want to splice any wires.

so far just 30 inch a/ts on 17s. 10 inch sub behind passenger seat.
Does anyone know where I could order just the wiring harness? Ive emailed several ebay sellers but none have gotten back to me about just the harness, all want to sell with lights and switch. Problem is I already have both and would like to save a little money.
