Just fine except the switch won't fit right in the dash holes. I did the same type kit but ran oem switch instead but there are many other choices. I just wanted factory look and fit.

This is a great thread, but does anyone know if EPA or someone else has done the coup de gras of fog lamp installation threads? I'm talking about pictures for the whole process, including installing the OE switch in the dash.

The only reason I'm asking if this exists is that my truck is brand new, and while I know it's a TRUCK and is tough, I'm not incredibly comfortable ripping it apart to add minor stuff like this. A walk-through chock full of pictures that help me get a much better idea before I even take a look inside of my truck would really be helpful.

Matty, I too had a brand-new Tacoma when I installed my fog lights. It really is a simple installation and the pictures provided by epa4wd were plenty sufficient for a top-notch installation by the average driveway mechanic. I say GO FOR IT and I'm sure you'll be happy once finished! If you run into any problems, they have probably already been discussed within this thread with answers posted. Dozens have done this mod with no real problems other than sub-par kits obtained from eBay. There are very nice kits available on eBay (that's where I got mine) but you should do your homework and buy from one of the recommended sellers mentioned in this thread. ;)

I gotcha, I probably will go for it. I guess I was on the fence and wanted to make sure I wouldn't go in over my head before I spent the time and money to do this, so wanted a little nudge in the right direction.

I'll probably end up doing it, and maybe I'll take pictures myself to try and supplement the great writeup EPA did in this thread already:D

Alright gents, I just made the dive. Ordered the Fog Lights + Harness + Switch kit, and also ordered a factory Switch-only. The switch cost $43 + $5 for shipping, which is a bit steep, but I couldn't find any other listings on eBay or sites like Toyota Parts Online (or whatever it is) that had it for cheaper. I too am going for a factory look and feel here.

When I get everything in I'll try to take pictures all along the way and hopefully be able to add to EPA's already great writeup.

P.S. Here's the links to the auctions I just bought from:
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...0512535151&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK:MEWNX:IT (Lights + Harness + Aftermarket switch)
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320656083495&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT (Toyota Switch only)

Edit: Here's the picture in the listing for the OEM switch:

You are going to need the harness and plug that connects to the back of the OEM switch. This kit included the switch and harness

    http://www.trdparts4u.com/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=-6947

If not check your local autoparts store and see if you can find some connectors like the ones in those green wires in the link above and put some heatshrink around them so they don't touch each other when connected to the back of the switch.

Looking forward to seeing it installed!

Arghhh, this was what I was kinda worried about. I don't have anything in front of me so I still don't have a great idea of what im getting in these kits. I already ordered the switch-only, and didn't realize that it required its own harness as well. Emailed the seller to try and cancel that order so I can order the one from TRDParts.

I bought the add-a-fuse at my local auto parts store. For those curious, I got it at an Advance Auto Parts, it's made by Buss Fuses and it's called the "Mini Add-A-Line". UPC number is 0-51712-59410-3. Also picked up a box of 5 10A fuses to go along with it.

Cool if you are unable to cancel the order you can buy the harness alone its around $25

    You would need

    One of Part Number: 90980-11090
    Four of Part Number: 82998-12340

apparently there are two kits on ebay (or more), I know the switch that came with mine and others too, did not fit, but a few pages back there are pictures of someone who bought a kit on ebay and it came with a switch that does fit and looks pretty good, he posted pictures and link to the auction.

So, using those part numbers, I found that LexusPartsNow.com had the "one" (the F-connector housing) at like $3.22, and then one of the "Four" at $5.35 a piece! Is that right? Seems like I should be able to get the harness as ONE item, not assemble it. here are the links:

Unfortunately they don't sell it as one piece, it deffinetly sucks to pay $5 bucks for each wire, but there isn't much of a choice unless you buy only the plug and try to find some connector that works with that plug.

I was lucky and was able to buy everything together from ebay.

Hmm. Well, I'll just wait and see what that all looks like when I get it. I have a ton of old computer parts, and it looks like something similar to a Molex connector that all the power supplies have, or something similar, so I might be able to skife some parts from my stash of computer stuff. Will also let you know how that goes.

Some shit I got on craigslist
After looking through the thread it seems like mainly 4 banger dudes in here; I have a TRD OR and have a question. Since I already have fogs in my rig, (the dude who owned it previously tried to put some weird film coating on them and totally ruined the lens hence the need to replace) will I need to run an extra fuse, switch, wiring ect? The kit I am looking to get is at this link http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/05-1...p5197Q2em7QQcategoryZ33709QQitemZ290539805324
    Thanks in advance.
