    Albano,

WOW, my bad! Totally forgot about that. I do remember going to take a picture but it was raining, just took it now.

Excuse the dirty engine compartment, it's time for bath in there:)

The white wire is the power feed to the fog lights. This connection within the fuse box is "live" when the ignition is in the "on" position so you will not kill the battery if the fog lights are left on.

    Thanks,
Ok for the white power wire with fuse, +12V. What did you do with the thin red wire that others ran to the TAIL 10A. fuse under the dash? Did you do that as well or pick up the low-beam fuse in the engine compartment?
    Great Picture, thanks a million.

The remainder of the wire harness was fed thru the engine firewall, connecting to the switch and the fuse box in the dashboard. I purchased an "add a fuse" (see photo) and connected one of the red wires to this. If you back track to the first page of this tread, there is an install by another member.

The Advanced Auto Parts store here in Denver ordered me the OEM assemblies. They were $118 each.

I ordered the relay and OEM switch from ebay for $30 total.

Everything fit "plug and play" and took less than 20 minutes to install.

Great way to get fog lamps on a V6.

I just finished adding the fog lights and the OEM switch. This was the first mod on my new tacoma.

The information in this thread was very helpful. Thanks to epa4wd and everyone else who contributed.

Just installed aftermarket OEM fogs I bought from Ebay for $71.99. Just like the rest, they came with harness, relay and switch (OEM style that fits in stock dash slot). Fitment was excellent.

Take-away from this post is that the kit I bought (as there's many) came with a flawless wiring harness. 3 wires to manually hook up; the rest all have connectors on them. It is the "harness for dummies" such as myself.

I figured with so many asking about "what wire goes where", I'd post the link. Way easier than some of the harness pics earlier in this post. The seller on Ebay is "x3racing". Link below:

EDIT: This listing shows for 05-08 models, but I bought them for a '10 and they worked just the same.

Its the same kit and harness that has been mentioned in this thread. Switch fits but in the lower slots below the A/C panel which only the 09+ have. The instructions posted here are pretty much to modify that harness to use the OEM Toyota switch which regardless of the year (05 - current) it'll fit in stock location next to the steering wheel.

epa4wd, The title of this thread is "Ebay fog light kits for 08-09-10 Tacomas", not "Factory OEM fog light switch". I've read through this thread multiple times. I was providing information to those that didn't want to spend $20-$60 on a factory Toyota switch and to those that may not have the tools/skills to make all the harness changes mentioned earlier in this post.

And I'm not sure why you feel that the switch included in this kit will only fit exclusively in the slots below the A/C panel (I'm guessing it's because you are a "know-it-all" type). The OEM style switch that came with my kit is now mounted in the far left slot under the vent closest to the drivers door, and fit without a problem.

Not sure if you normally speak to people as if they're stupid, but it's uncalled for and not warranted.

For those of you that haven't bought a kit yet, I was trying to explain that the parts provided in this kit require no modification whatsoever and work flawlessly, WITH the switch provided.

EDIT: The switch included in the kit I linked above is mounted in the same location as the photo from Rick_S above. It snaps into the factory location with no modification and looks factory.

Hey I didn't mean to hurt your feelings. Is not that I'm "a know it all" its that I bought that same kit and the switch at least in the link of ebay you posted, was that one and in my case was smaller than stock, small enough to fit where I mentioned below the A/C panel and not next to the steering wheel (it would have a gap) and look ugly. If yours is different then awesome.

I've never insulted anyone here or make them feel stupid, its not my thing, so if it came out wrong then sorry my apologies maybe something got lost in translation since English is not my native language but my post was meant as informative and not as an insult or something.

bottom line then is choose carefully your ebay kit since it may or may not come with a switch that fits in stock location. Mine didn't but shanomacs did.

Re-reading my post I want to clear it up to better understand what I meant.

When I said the instructions here were for using OEM switch. I did not mean by this that this thread is exclusively to wiring the kit to OEM switch, what I meant is that IS the reason the harness/instructions here look more complicated.

Mentioning that it is the same harness mentioned here, well is exactly that. I was not trying to make you feel stupid with this comment, it was meant more for people to realize that if the buy that kit, they will be getting the exact same harness that was modified and discussed in this thread, which is true, that is the harness I modified to use with OEM switch, so if anyone wants to buy that one and wants to modify it to use oem switch, they can, with the same instructions posted here.

The comment about the switch, is because my switch looked like the one on your ebay link, which like you mentioned also, there are plenty on ebay. I think that every seller on ebay is selling the same kit that comes in a box that has part number TY05TC. They are made in Japan or something like that, I once found the link for the manufacturer but I don't remember the site right now. In my case the switch was smaller than the blanks on the dash next to the steering wheel, but it was a perfect fit for the blanks below the A/C panel. You mentioned you put it in stock dash slot (which could be either the ones next to the steering wheel or below a/c panel, it was not specific, you have a 2010) due to my experience with the switch I figured you put it in the slot below A/C panel (because thats where mine would fit), so I felt the need to inform that those with pre 09 trucks do not have those slots. Now that you have specified that yours did fit in the slots next to the steering wheel, well I'm happy and surprised.

So again my apologies if I was not clear enough, my post was not meant as an insult or trying to treat you like if you were stupid.

The info provided in this thread gave me the confidence to do this project on my truck last year. My fog lights came out perfect and are still working great today. Thanks again epa4wd.

Sorry epa4wd. Maybe I took it the wrong way. I appreciate your response and all of the information you have provided to this post. It definitely helped me out during my install and obviously countless others.

When I got my kit and looked at the wiring explanations contained throughout this post it seemed as if the wiring harness provided in my kit was different, and much more simple to install. Also, that the switch provided fit just like an OEM switch, and looks pretty decent. My ultimate goal was to explain that for $71.99 members could have a very cheap option for installing fog lights, as money seems to be an issue for everyone in this economy. I've attached a pic of the switch so members can decide if they wish to spend the extra money on the factory switch.

Again, my apologies if I took it the wrong way. Happy motoring.

EDIT: Been a rough couple weeks- two separate deaths between family and friends. Both sudden and violent. I'm sure it might have something to do with my panties being in a bunch. Thanks again.

No problem shanomac, that switch is sweet! looks a lot like the one FJ Cruisers now have, definitely not the same my kit included :( Thanks for the pic. I have actually been considering switching to the FJ's switch because it has a light like that one which comes on when the fog lights are on. The OEM Tacoma switch does not have any indicator that the fog lights are on.

Does anyone else kit included that switch? Now I'm curious if there has always been two different kits on ebay or if this is something new? If you look at the ebay link you posted the switch on their pic has square corners instead of rounded like yours and it is smaller. The one in the pic of ebay is exactly as the one I got.

    Again very very nice !!!
