What's your thoughts on smoothing out that burr with emery cloth?

In was thinking the cv shaft should be much harder than the bushing material so it should basically wear itself in. But that's a bit too janky for me to just slap it in and hope all is well.

Found this thread on a different website and hoping it is the solution to my problem. My 09 has had low speed vibes since my lifts began. Usually the vibes happen during the first few shifting cycles. I will try the 4hi trick to see if the vibes go away. If so I'll be getting this done.

I'm getting the rumbles exactly at 20 mph on slowing when the truck downshifts(I think from 3 to 2)...every single time. If I throw it into Neutral while slowing it doesn't rumble....is this the needle bearing too?

picked this set up this week for the install. $40 seems quality. they have a plastic set for $20, I opted against that one

Good piece of info. I am getting that buzzy vibration and will test drive tomorrow in 4hi to see if it goes away.

Did some driving tests this evening. From a stop in 2WD the shudders occurred yet ceased in 4Hi under the same circumstances. Hope this solution remedies the problem that apparently Toyota is unable to recognize.

Has anyone ever worn the needle bearing down to the point where the needles have escaped? My CV (at the clamshell) on drivers side has way more freeplay than passenger side.... like an 1/8 inch compared to 1/32.... Been hearing some strange noises out of the front end lately and while searching I discovered the freeplay....

3/8" might be a bit much, I used a race driver set but some guys have had good success using larger sockets flipped around. ECGS has stated before that anything up to 1/4" I believe was acceptable. When I installed mine I left about >1/8 sticking out as I didn't want to risk driving it in too far.
