I recently lifted my 2011 TRD OR SC SB. Developed a slight shudder at take-off. Also slight vibration while driving at 20 MPH. Put the truck in 4HI and the shudder/vibration goes away.

Ordered the East Coast Gear Supply bushing, removal tool, and a CV seal.

Looking for any tips, tricks, do's and dont's while performing the needle bearing removal, and bushing install.

    Thankyou!

Make sure to put some plastic or something behind the needle bearing when fishing the removal tool back there. Ask me how I know lol

Put the bushing in the freezer prior to install

Haha yes. I dropped the nut from the removal tool into the diff and got super lucky by fishing it out of the drain hole. If it drops in there and you can't get it out it means you gotta drop the whole thing and open it up

Several good write ups here about it. Read through some of those first. It's not too bad of a job.

Both helped me out a bit. I wish I had just taken the time to pull the whole spindle out of the way to make it easier. The axle was a pain in the ass to remove and reinstall thanks to the c-clip on it, so maybe others can suggest some tips for that. I used a pry bar to pop it out but it wasn't easy. Reinstalling was even more of a pain in the ass and I needed a helper. Good luck, I hated doing this bushing install but im glad it's over. 42k on my truck and no scoring on the axle after being lifted since purchase.

Ill take a guess, its going to shrink if its cold, so as long as its still cold when you try to install, it should fit a little easier

Finished the bushing install, everything went pretty smooth. Hardest part was popping the cv axle free. No scoring on the axle, put everything back together with a new seal as well.

Needle bearing needles do fall out EASILY, those things almost got into the diff, but we had a rag to stop them from doing so, counted them, re counted them. Had all 34 outside of the diff. Pheeew.

Still have a slight shudder. It is significantly less, id say about 60% less, but it is still noticeably there. At takeoff, a slight shudder. Thinking that my worn out cv axles may have a part in the vibration. The drivers side did have quite a bit of "play" in it while it was pulled. Could grab the shaft and the main housing and feel a lot of play. Thinking of ordering new shafts to see if that will help more with the vibration.
