I have. I think someone did a writeup for it. He helped me get my image right. It HAS to be an 8bit BTMP for it to work.

Has anyone else had issues in doing this? I'm good with computers and can do just about anything, but for some reason this will not work for me. I've literally tried this about 50 times and wasted money on discs. I'm using CD-R, should I be using DVD's instead?

Has anyone gotten a USB splitter to work so you can have a HD and an iPod hooked up at the same time!?

I've not tried that. Has anyone tried using an external HD on the unit and gotten it to work?

I used a thumbdrive, and it worked fine. I don't know why a hard drive would be any different?:notsure:

Yes, it's saved as an 8 bit pic, tried multiple times with different pics. Anyone tried doing it with a USB drive? I'm gonna try it that way and see if it works.

It has to do with there not being enough power supplied to spin up the drive. I have a 16 gig flash drive that will probably be going in my truck if I can ever get it back from my girlfriend. She's got it in her car because I installed the same unit in her Tiguan :D

haha, you are right though. I imagine there it takes the same amount of power to spin it. It works with the older iPods, and that is why they are so big. They are 2.5" HD's in the iPod. The newer ones are so fast and small because of slate style memory.

Another member and I talked about doing this he tried it before I could and it did not work.

Edit:we were thinking unlimited mp3 capacity it did not recognize it, but it may work for a simple image file.

Are you naming the files correctly?
the image file must be labeled
    OP1.bmp
the other file must be labeled
    CSM.txt

    op1 file must be 496x278 8 bit
the csm file must be 0 bytes in size
Burn at a low speed on a blank cd disk.
