I'm sure if the hu pushes enough power for a usb hub to work, i thought i had read that guys who had a portable hard drive had to feed power to hard drive seperate, worth a try usb hubs are pretty cheep.

Did it really eliminate the "GPS signal lost" voice? It didn't for me...

strange...it worked for me even though I didn't think it would. My PC sees the card reader as a disk drive. I was assuming the toolbox was not going to pick it up as it is looking for a special usb device.

I had toolbox running when I plugged it in, I'm sure you've tried that but the eclipse instructions say it should start automatically.

The only difference in the firmware I've noticed so far is auto time zones work correctly. I still get the gps signal lost voice, and I really wish they would have fixed the issue with GPS not initializing until you pass the waiver screen. map updates are slow to download but should be done this afternoon.

Can anyone that has updated check to see if you can enter a highway addresss? (ex: 265 us highway 206. byram township, nj 07821) Do you have to pay for the update?
I'm now getting "recalculating route" constantly when using navigation. On a 5 hour trip, it must have updated about 300 times. Tech support is pretty much useless at this point.

    The update is $70 IIRC.

About the recalculating...I noticed when I first got my unit that it would constantly have a GPS error that would cause it to recalculate. It seemed to work it self out after a few weeks.

Question, after you turn off the truck, then you come back to it at anytime you get that "agree" screen for the nav. The clock wont set itself until you hit "agree"

Anyone found a way around this? It drives me crazy

Also as far as the map update goes...could two people share the same update? I would be willing to split one with somebody, or pay someone half that already has done it.

hendooman - as far as i know...no cause i think the clock runs off the gps antenna. so you have to agree before the clock comes on.

    Yep.

And I really don't know. I've been thinking about it since my GF and I have the same unit but the current maps seem to be pretty good as far as coverage goes.

I know when I had my AVN 2454 you could use the same update disk on multiple systems. But that was with a different nav program. You also needed the disk in order to do it. I actually burned the disk for a buddy and it worked fine. Who knows about this one....I would be willing to go halfs on the update too. I think Italyn would be the one to be the test dummy cause he has 2, so no real loss to him either. Someone could try to do a group buy for it maybe...

Any of you had a problem with your gps working slow or map just not moving. It appears to be slow getting a signal. Any help?

No, I find the unit really quick in all aspects... I also have the antenna placed directly on top of the unit, mine takes around 10 seconds to acquire a sat after I hear the "signal is loss" speech.

My antenna is under the dash so it takes almost 30 seconds to get a signal when I first turn it on.
