I was at the dealer today and saw a TX 4x4 2011. It had the wood grain type dash kit and an eclipse nav system from factory. Looked like a std double din radio face plate.

Question is can the dash kit be purchased? Same for the eclipse? Assuming it has factory type connections that would be very nice.

anyone try this, or anyone have this in their ride and can share thoughts on look and function.

    thx

yes, you can buy them both the wood grain and the eclipse navigation. Those are most likely not factory options. They are probobly dealer installed options. Dealer installed options are usually overpriced. You have to buy an adapter kit and a wiring harness to fit the nav. I dont know alot of people that have the wood grain kits, but plenty of people have installed nav systems.

Where do you think I can find an aftermarket wood dash trim kit that works over a schosche double din. I have not seen any other than one from the factory/wherever toyota installs their nav option. The nav unit I am talking about is a 1200 toyota option or a part of the TX package, at least the one I saw. I suspect eclipse made that unit specific for toyota. They have done that before. First order of business for me is to see if I can find that wood trim kit from the TX w/eclipse nav as that should fit nicely on my double din schosche. thx for the response.

Did you happen to take pics? I can tell you if the eclipse is a standard model. I honestly never really looked into dash trim kits, but I'm sure if a company makes one to sell to Toyota, then they probably sell it to the public as well. I'd start off searching wood trim kit company websites. I'd imagine you could find it pretty easily.

actually, theres a pretty good chance the eclipse will take factory style plugs. for years, the standard eclipse harnesses matched the factory toyota radio plugs.

I would have to go back to dealer to snap pix, however here is part of the window sticker with the options I am referring to. I am quite sure this is a PIO port installed option. You can find this on a search for 4wd tacoma at Lynch Toyota auburn al 36830

That doesn't really help. Your best bet is to search for the parts on your own or call the dealer you saw this truck at. I already told you that it shouldn't be that hard to get a similar navi and wood grain if your willing to search. Without seeing the parts I can't tell you whether they were factory, dealer, port, or whatever installed options. Honestly it wouldn't really matter anyways. All you have to do is take maybe fifteen minutes, the search feature, and Google and you could have you answers.I can't do everything for you man. You can search and find a ton of people that have double DIN navigation systems and what they thought about it. As far a the wood grain goes, not alot of people have done it because the look isn't very popular. Good luck man.

If I knew then what I know now I would have spent the money on something else... Not worth the $300 I spent.
