I’m liking the @Tacowiede idea and design as is. Simple. Looks easy to do and does the job in the right way. For me it would be perfect, when ECT power is required just thumb the button.

I love it! I'm going to look at the TRD shift knob to see if there is ample room for this mod. My son got me the shifter for Chistmas and it feels like it gave me 10 horsepower :)

Reminds me of the OD on/off button on some of the older Toyota’s.

My Mom's 1990 Honda Accord had a Sport Mode button integrated into the shift knob which I always thought was kinda neat. It's a beautiful integration!

    Thanks for doing this!
I have thought about this for a while, and curious about the Pro shifter knob switch location. Gotta find a red button!
Makes sense to remove the switch if it is not really needed anymore.

    Would Buy!

Kings, 275/70/17, a few custom items, lots of Meso mods.
I actually had this idea over a year ago but I'm not talented enough. Ideas were thrown around and looked into but life changes things so I would definately buy one if you come up with this mod.

So, it looks like there’s definitely some interest. The wire harness isn’t a big deal to make but I’m not sure what to do about the knob. I wasn’t able to find the oem knob on the web and the dealer wants $150, probably not a feasible option. I did find an after-market knob but it will not work, it has to be the oem. I haven’t looked at a Pro knob yet to see if a button can be added to it.

What do you guys think about shipping me your knob? I modify it, install the button, ship it back to you with the wiring harness. I think I can do this for $75 shipped.

More details would still need to be figured out. Obviously, you guys would not want to be without your shift knob any longer than necessary. So, to make this go as quick and smooth as possible I will probably set up a group buy that will end on a set date with the instructions to ship me the knobs by another set date. This way I know when they’re coming in and would have that weekend set aside. If I try to do these as they trickle in, I can’t guarantee a quick turnaround.

    What do you guys think?

@Tacowiede how about sending out the wiring harness and button with detailed install instructions? It appears that the average tacojoe could possibly modify the knob and install the button on site. That’s my $.02.

I bought the one in the top link and it will not work. I need to be able to remove the trim piece, which pops off the oem, but the aftermarket knob's trim piece was glued on.

Just selling the harness could be an option.

It’s the detailed install instructions along with the parts that would do it for me.

Interested. With OVTune gear hold with ECT button and ‘S’ mode, this would be a winner.

Exactly what I was thinking. It makes so much more sense to have the button on the knob if you're using this feature.
