    Anyone have experience/advice with these chips? I was told that any intake/muffler modification (ie CAI/Free-flow exhaust) would require a recalibration of the air sensor....would these or any other brand chip do the trick or can the OEM ones just need a tune up?

    NOt true, the MAF measures the incoming and and adds fuel appropriately, so if you put on an exhaust and it increases flow the MAF should compensate for the added flow just based on the way it works...

    there is a hotwire in the MAF that is cooled by the incoming air and it wants to stay at a preprogrammed voltage, the more air into the motor the cooler this wire will tend to get therefore it adds more fuel since its based simply on the voltage necessary to keep the wire "hot".

    Thats the beauty of electronics, they can compensate within a certain range to keep the parameters the same mainly being closed loop AFRs.

    The only thing a "recalibration" would give you (IE a larger MAF tube) just throws off the calibration totally and will just be bad, you would need to modify this signal electronically to do it the right way by using a MAF calibrator to change your open loop fueling, closed loop fueling will always be the same unless you get an AFR or 02 signal modifier, since at this point fuel trims are being used to control the AFR #s to approximately 14.7:1 air to fuel ratio..
