    Hey @MGMSangTaco!

Just found this thread after failing my emissions test today. You tuned me back in 7/21 (the exact moment these new emissions rules went into effect!)... I sent you an email, but we need to talk! :)

Dang, another Coloradan failed emissions due to a tune? Makes me want to still hold off on tuning the 2nd gen even though it runs soooo rich from the TRD tune.

Yeah, it's a bummer, but it sounds like with the OTT tune getting its certification I should be able to just get retuned and retest and life will go on. Just sucks that my reg expires this month and I'll be out of town all next week, so cutting it down to the wire to get it fixed!

I've been keeping up, you're fine. CARB certification with Exective Order has been confirmed and issued. I think it's only $50 for you to get the latest tune (which they have spent a significant amount of time and money to get certified) and then a sticker for under the hood.

I guess technically I'm fine too, as I have a spare ECU with the stock, unaltered tune, that I could swap to for emissions.

Got my tune over KDM last Sunday. Seems to hold gears even longer and more torquey if that is even a word. Nice shiny CARB sticker adds at least 5 HP as well.

I live in the foothills, I'll take all the extra HP I can get!

Well I just ran into this and Adam of Colorado Tunning (did my first tune) responded before I found this post. I will be getting on the retune schedule asap to pass emissions...

Do the fine folks at Air Colorado Testing Centers even open the hood on newer vehicles? I do not recall anyone opening the hood on any of the vehicles that I have had emission tested.

I worked with @Adam with Colorado Toyota Tunning, retuned my 2017 Tacoma, and had NO issues passing emissions at the Broomfield testing center.

THANKS to everyone on this thread OTT, Colorado Toyota Tunning, and the origional post...

@JustDSM - I'll be taking the OTT tuned 3.5L tacoma in for CO Emissions check. Do I need to be running a specific OTT tune combo to comply with the CARB Cert? Currently running Mild/Medium

Are you on our OTT-CE calibration or one of the earlier versions? If you're on the CE calibration, you should have all the necessary documentation.

If you're unsure, please reach out to Adam/Ryan at Colorado Toyota Tuning to confirm before going in.

Hey there- Adam/Colorado Toyota Tuning here— happy to help as Justin mentioned! If you were tuned prior to 2024 with OTT, you’ll just need the CE calibration applied and we’ll also provide you with a CARB sticker and paperwork. We’re open mon-sat every week and can make it happen as soon as tomorrow, just shoot us an email, call, text, or pm here etc and we’ll get you hooked up.

Everyone from 1/1/2024 and on has had the CE calibration applied. There was a window of time while we waited for the EO from 1/1/2024 till around the summer if I recall correctly when the EO was granted and we obtained stickers, but anyone tuned in that time got an email requesting mailing addresses/sent everything via mail (from my adam@coloradotoyotatuning.com email).
