You most definitely would not enjoy driving my Spyder then...

To the OP; this is a subjective con contrived to find a way to take a chink out of the armor that is Toyota's impeccable reputation when it comes to the light truck market.

I am 5'5. Not a tall guy by any means, and even I have found that the seating position on it is not even low at all. Even if you lack for a "high" seating position, you can make up for in a quick height adjustment via the recline function of the seating.

    Edmunds is clearly high.

FWIW, I wouldn't listen to anything Consumer Reports has to say when it comes to reviews about trucks. If it's not a crossover, they aren't going to like it.

I have a 13 AC TRD and I'm 6' with 33 waist I feel its a little low but I have plenty of head space I thought of having a shop custom a 2" lift on the seat but prob would not be worth the money I wish I had the higher seats like a tundra or my old 06 ram where your legs feel like your sitting at the dinner table opposed to feeling like you in a sports car.

I'm 6'1" with a 34" inseam and I love the seats in the 11 TRD Off Road. So far I've been on 2 driving trips of 2K miles in a week and the truck more comfortable to drive than anything I've owned in a long time. I'm no expert but I think the TRD models have upgraded seats. I really like the way they support and hold my back.

5'11 and 180 here and I feel the seats are to low. My knees are not supported by the lower cushion.

I find 2 hours and I get a sore back.

Take a long test drive before you buy because it can definately be an issue.

I have short (but thick) legs and a tall torso for my 5'10" height ad a 29.5" inseam which makes the seats too high for me. Even with the steering wheel at maximum tilt upward I hit my lower thighs getting in and if I sit up straight I'm looking out from the blued sun dimmer part of the windshield. I've gotten used to it and just recline a bit.

I am looking into if I can lower the seat a bit or maybe replace it with an aftermarket seat an inch or two would make a huge difference.

The seats are comfortable for me, not as nice as my old Audi but comfortable enough to do 12 hours from Denver to Phoenix in a day.

It's not really that the seats are too low, but that the floor is too high. And there's not enough room in the cab from the floor to the roof to give you anymore room from the bottom of the seat to the floor. Put the seat any higher and your head touches the headliner. Put it any lower and you're literally sitting on there floor. Again, love my truck though and still haven't pulled the trigger on anything else even though I have the money saved to do so.

So after 30+ replies, the seats are too high, too low, and just right...it appears asking this is like asking which color is best.

If it seems ok on your test drive, then I guess it's ok for you...

Get one of these, it will help with the annoying placement of the rear view mirror (in the center of the doggone windshield!!) I just installed one and makes a good difference in visibility:

I recommend the Extang Trifecta for your tonnau cover choice:

    good luck with the purchase.

I am 6' with a 34" inseam and drive a 2008 Tacoma. I find the seat to be comfortable, but it does feel low to me. I have driven the truck on several trips with 8-9 hours of driving per day with no problems.

We also own a 2013 Highlander Limited. Last week I made a 1700 mi. round trip in it, and I thought it was better than the Tacoma. Its power seat is higher and has more options for adjustment.

The current Tacoma, and pretty much every Toyota min & mid-sized have been like this since dirt was originally found. The only other vehicle with the same seating position that I can think of was the 80's - 90's Jeep Cherokee.

In both cases, it has allowed to have more ground clearance under the truck, with less high center of gravity on top. Personally my why hates riding in my Tacoma (Says the seating position is like riding in a Corvette, but it's a truck) I don't mind, I'm on my 6th Toyota truck. But I do get what the reviewer is saying. Jeep Cherokees got reamed back in the day for same complaint. Today, they have almost no clearance or Off-Road capability, when compared to the old version.

I have a 2015 Tacoma Double Cab Long Bed SR5 after parting with my 2002 Tundra TRD Access Cab. The new truck is very similar inside to the first generation Tundras. I also had a 2003 4Runner and the Tacoma seat is a vast improvement.
That being said, I'm 6', 30" inseam and I'm comfortable. My wife, 5' 5", finds the seat low.
The 2015 is my fifth Toyota. They've been very reliable.
I bought the Tacoma over the Tundra or f150 because of its manageable size and relatively low cost compared to Ford and GM trucks.

We just talked about this tonight. Me and a friend were riding around and he commented the seating position is a lot different t than his chevy diesel.

Not uncomfortable but different. I'm 6' and I have no uncomfortable feeling.
