I live in a very generic suburban cookie cutter neighborhood. Since the weather here in N. FL has become bearable I've been riding the Harley. The Taco sat for 10 days. Today I fired it up to find a CEL and a Trac light. Noticeable misfire on accel, noticeable rough idle. A quick underhood inspection and I found a nest under the intake runners made of leaves and the shit you use to make fake spiderwebs on your bushes for Halloween. Thanks suburbia. I thought about what the dealer would charge me for a repair, (shudder). Then I thought about doing it myself, and I dug in.
My laptop said I had a proprietary code for a bank 3 injector fail. (Thank you Google) As well as a generic P0302.
    Pictures to follow.

Clean it up and take to the dealer under warranty?

I don't have "pack rat" coverage. And I've turned wrenches for $ a few times so I'm on my own here. A new harness was $48 so I ordered it already.

Wow that sure sucks! Damn mice gathered up house insulation from somewhere and packed it all in the lower intake on my Mustang, thankfully they didn't chew anything up in the process.

I'm not sure if it's under homeowners or vehicle but insurance covers it 99% of the time. I just install the new harness, easy money. Which harness did you get for $48?

I remember being very young and my Grandpa had mouse poison under his hood. At all times. We lived in the country. I now have mouse poison under my hood. I've skipped becoming my Dad and become my Grandpa.

It's almost just a pigtail. Drivers side injector connector. It's about 10" long with a main connector and 3 injector connectors. I repaired the old one just in case the parts man lied to me. Because that never happens.

I usually throw some mothballs underneath and a Bounce dryer sheet under the hood during winter storage, they are supposed to not like the smell

Associated note. Any of you Toyota affiliated guys have torque specs? I'm concerned about my fuel rail torque and intake runner torque. Please and thank you.

Had that happen to my Audi. $2200 and almost two months later I had a new wiring harness and firewall insulation from Germany. Needless to say I did an insurance claim...... I have tons of rat traps/zappers and fully sealed my garage after that.

Yeah, mice suck. My aunt had her van catch fire driving down the freeway because of a mouse nest under the hood. It was totaled. Consider yourself lucky.

Something about Audi's wiring attracts mice. Thought my oil level sensor was bad. Bought a new one, took off the panels under the car to replace, and found a mouse had chewed through the wires. Luckily it was an easy splice and not near as bad as yours or OPs sounds, but of course Audi would let me return an "electronic" part even though I never took it out of the box.
