Has anyone had bushing failure where the strut goes right through the top?

Can’t tell what has failed in yours. Was top part loose? Did bushing push up and out? Here’s mine

Need help/advise guys... Planning to lower down a notch on my Eibach lift. currently on 2nd notch and I want to lower it down to the 1st notch. Would I need an alignment after? or I would be good to go? I have JBA UCA installed as well.

    Thanks

Did the ride quality improve with the lift?

What's the best clip setting for a level stance?

Just installed the pro truck 2.0 kit with the 2R shocks in the rear. I added the 4runner front lower shock bolts while i was at it to make sure i dont get the clunk that others have had possibly due to the stock lower shock bolt. The kit rides really nice, so far really happy, got around 3" of lift out of the box up front, i also added a 1.5" aal in the rear20230601_162036.jpg 20230603_122827.jpg 20230603_122817.jpg 20230603_122807.jpg

Is that all you changed was the bolts? And used your existing nuts and washers? I have a 23 taco…. Do you know if they used the “newer” bolts on my truck?

I’ll be ordering soon u less I find out I already have them. I just saw that thread the other day

Yea, you just change your bolts and use your old washers and nuts. If you look through the pics in the thread it will show the difference between the tacoma and 4runner bolts.

I suspect someone left something out during the install. Otherwise that should be pretty much impossible. There are other similar issues you see posted here periodically and in the end they are almost always user error

Need some help. I just got the stage 1 in and trying to decide on which notch to put it on. I’ll be adding 1” blocks in the back and I’ll have 130 lbs in the front with my bumper and winch. Thinking about the second setting.

How’s the ride? I’ve heard its extremely rough, is that true? I have mine set at the 2nd notch and have been wanting to go up to the 3rd. Would you recommend it?

I'm running 1" blocks in the back and 2nd notch in the front with a trd skid plate. It's perfectly level.

I finally got around to installing my Eibach Stage 1 lift as an early Christmas gift to myself.

    Front: 2nd notch
Rear: Icon AAL and 1/2" block (overload spring removed)

    Initial thoughts...
    1. Somehow, the truck is sitting almost perfectly level front to rear (fender gap) with the Icon AAL + 1/2" block... So, either the front lifted more than expected, or the Icon AAL pack is not providing the 1.5" advertised lift. I'm considering swapping out the 1/2" block for a 1" block to get back to a raked stance.
    2. The ride on OEM wheels and tires is great. It's not much stiffer than stock on the 2nd notch, there is less body roll during turns, and I no longer notice the nose dive during braking. For those who say the ride is too stiff, my guess is they are installing new tires at the same time and then assuming the lift causing the stiffness, when it's actually their tires.
    3. After a week on the OEM wheels and tires, I installed a set of SSW Raptor wheels and 285/70/17 Toyo RT Trail (Load C), and the ride became noticeably more rough. The rough ride is definitely caused by tires, in my case.... but they look so good, I can't be bothered :)

i prefer the rake stance too, just swap out the rear blocks and AAL for an actual pair of leaf springs, it will hold the lift better vs. wearing out like an AAL will overtime & it will ride better. & the ride up front will be stiff preloading those front shocks on the above notches that are meant for additional weight.

I actually don't mind the 2nd notch on the Eibach shocks and springs. I think it rides "sporty" to me, and not too bumpy at all.... but I've owned a lot of sports cars, and a stiff ride doesn't bother me (lowered mustangs, lowered c5 z06, lexus is300 & is350, etc...)

I might start researching full leaf spring packs in the near future. The ride with the AAL + 1/2" block feels great now, but I'm worried about the rear sagging over time.

2nd clip with 1" rear eibach block. Perfectly level. Rides great off road imo.
