I’ve been considering these or the 6112. I’d love the ability to adjust the front based on where the rear ends up after a new leaf pack with a GFC without having to take it apart like the 6112.

The clunking has me thinking otherwise though..

is that happening to some regardless of lift height, or is it only after going above a certain point?

For me, I installed mine the way they came out of the box. Got the clunk on the first drive.

Just the factory leaf springs. Didn't even add a leaf. No air bouncy either. Just one inch blocks.

Stage 2 installed today at a local shop.
Kept it at 2” front and 1” block in rear.
Center of hub to fender dead nuts at 33” all around. No clunk, feels great so far.upload_2023-8-25_18-11-19.jpg

Got my stage 2 kit installed and now have a clunk. Did anyone figure it out? I see a mark on the back of my coilover, is the sway bar hitting? We installed the relocation kit properly. IMG_6969.jpg

Damn. Did mine yesterday and no issues so far. Are you getting clunk during normal street driving?

Over speed bumps. Getting cmc tomorrow. Kind of annoyed with the clunk. I just loosened everything on sway bar and retorqued to spec. Haven’t driven around again yet to see if still there.

Did you do the install yourself? Did you tighten the lower shock bolt with the weight on the truck?

yes, still getting a clunk. Went through everything and torqued to spec. Seems a tiny bit better but still loud. Have a video on my phone but it won’t let me upload to here.

Got my lift installed Saturday, took about 6 hours with a friend, we got hung up pretty well on the first AAL, almost fuckered the bolt that came with it. Drives pretty well, stiffer, in a good way, than the stock SR5. Measured from the center of the axle to the fender, I’ve got 22” up front, 23” in the rear, though it still looks like it has a little squat going on.

    IMG_1015.jpg
Now just trying to figure if I’ll go with GY Ultraterrains or the Toyo OC AT3s.

I did replace the lower shock bolts with the 4Runner ones, I guess I ordered two too many, so I’ve got a couple extra if someone wants them for $20.

That's so weird. I wrenched mine up almost an additional inch and haven't had a clunk yet. Did you install sway bar relocation?

Yup, everything is installed that came with the kit.

So I paid to have a local shop take a look at everything (this shop installs a lot of eibach kits). They said everything was installed correctly, but they took off the relocation kit. The middle of the sway bar hits with the relo kit and it isn’t needed. This solved the “clank”… now onto the “thud”…

The other noise I’m getting is from the eibach coilover thudding on full extension. Pretty loud, wife noticed it and cringed (she thinks it rides bad now). They said they don’t know why but almost all the eibach coilovers do this. Again, I didn’t adjust passenger at all, and only adjusted driver 2 turns or 1/4”. I’m still a tad front low with a 1.5” icon aal. I’m sure if I lowered the front even more it may help it not thud so easily, but then it kind of defeats the purpose of why I bought this kit. I should be right under the 2.5” they claim you can do on this kit.

Eibach customer service wasn’t really great either. Maybe they would have eventually got to the solutions, but a week in and still answering things like what is my VIN.

Anyway, hope this helps someone else and you don’t have to pay a shop like i did to remove the relocation kit. Honestly it was a badass shop though and I was happy to give them my money. Will be purchasing future upgrades from them for sure!

Don’t mean to sound like I’m dogging eibach either. This was just my experience and I have only had it installed 2 weeks. I haven’t off-roading with them yet. So who knows, maybe I’ll grow to love them. Just wanted to update on the noises to help others that have the issue.

Damn. This is crazy. I’m probably 400 miles in and they ride like a dream. SoCal freeways, San Fernando Valley streets, potholes, uneven pavement, speed bumps…. perform great over all of it. Haven’t had a chance to run any river roads yet but have full confidence they would be great.

Really bums me out that some people are having this issue. Seems like if it happens, it happens from day one.

Do yours thud over speed bumps or anything that extends them? Did you adjust them at all?

Yeah I’m hoping they break in a little. I can say without the extremely loud clank I was getting I do feel a little happier about them.

Installed mine about 500 miles ago. Measuring at 23.5” from hub to fender all around with 1” block in back. Also went ahead and installed JBA uca’s and 4Runner front lower shock bolts. So far it’s been really good. Very happy with decision to go with this kit. My stock suspension was the trd sport so this is a bit softer than that which is a very good thing. Imo the oem sport suspension is far too harsh. I would cringe when I saw an upcoming pot hole. Yea cornering was a dream but it’s a truck, I don’t need it to try and handle like a half assed sports car. The Eibach still handles really well on road, soaks up small bumps nicely. This truck is my daily so I don’t go out thrashing it off road on the weekends; only mild trail stuff which it’s been more than up to, the little I’ve done so far. No clunking for me. I went with the 4R shock bolts and JBA’s in effort to avoid the mysterious noise. Did those things prevent the clunk or did I just get lucky? Beats me. But it didn’t hurt to hedge my bets.

Not bashing at all. The shop that installed mine suggested the same thing, to adjust the preload on the front coilovers but like you mentioned, that'll defeat the purpose.

Mine haven't settled and I am nearing a year with them. On the highway, they ride smooth. On the road, theyre decent.
