My 2 cents. I ordered this http://www.oznium.com/gsw-45-led it will handle 20A so you don't need a relay and it has a LED to annoy you so you don't need a timer. It looks good. I have it but didn't put it in yet. I figured KISS. Less is more betta for me. Less work, less thinking, less to go wrong. If it could be F'd up I can do it so KISS for me :D. Here is a nice wiring diagram http://www.oznium.com/gsw-45-led/tech Curious George

Easier, Yes as you don't have to glue a heater on the mirror and cut the plastic backing, plus you still get to keep your original mirrors incase you need them.

Cheaper, No as others have pointed out you can buy the grip heaters for pretty cheap, although to me $40 a mirror is pretty reasonable.

And if you want to save even more, you can use a regular switch as mentioned above, I just like the 15 minute timer and the OEM look which even dims with the dash lights. Thanks to CountryBoy in Mt for that!

Providing your 09 mirrors are the same as my 2008 mirrors, then I beleive it is 2006. Double check my previous post to be sure, as I have the part numbers listed there.

You have to cut the plastic backing? I didn't. Just pry the plastic back off the mirror, peal the paper backing off the self adhesive pads, stick on mirror, add some glue to the plastic, snap back together. Wires for the pads lined up with holes in the plastic backing for me.

As for a timer, I'm at work in 20-30 min so they're not on that long anyway. :D And once they're clear enough to see the big red light is annoying enough to remind me to turn them off. :D

    Which heater did you use?
I used the Sienna mirrors which didn't require cutting the plastic backing as the terminals lined up with the existing holes.

The OP had to cut the slastic backing to alow the terminals to protrude, however he used a grip heater, which is cheaper.

Everyone... Please take 5 minutes and read the complete thread. There is some VERY important information you need to know before attempting this. I don't want anyone blowing the "electri-hell" out of their trucks.

If you are asking these questions, I know you're not doing this.:annoyed:

Dude, the first page IS a tutorial! If you're going with mirrors with the pads already on you can do the step to get the glass off the truck, and then skip ahead to wiring.... ;)

Yeah, this thread is a hodgepodge of stuff. I would like to see a single, complete tutorial from shawnd2 using the sienna mirrors with the highlander switch and relay.

I ordered my Sienna mirrors. Ordered my relays and stuff. Need to go down to dealer and order my Highlander switch.

Once I get all that, I'll try to do a tutorial with help from the ones that already did it. I dont really know how to read that schematic. So I will make a MSPaint or something similar with labels and what not....

What's special with the Sienna mirrors? Its super easy to pull the wires through the stock mirror on your truck, just be patient and take your time.

What exactly do you want? The instructions and pictures are already posted. Are you confused about something? Do you not understand something?

Perhaps you could explain the problem before asking the OP to completely re-write a new thread.
