I just built a transfer case mount off of the existing cross member. I'll post up a photo when I get done working

Cheaper since I already have a rear transfer case to go with it and don't have to cut up 5je floor :notsure:

But who knows, maybe my opinion will be different when that day comes

I ran this for 5 years with zero issues. Took about 10 minutes of cardboard aided design and another 45 minutes to cut it then weld it up.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

I see... that looks pretty simple. The red mount, is that a manual trans mount?

Go straight to the source.... it's on sale and you can probably pick up in person.
    https://www.marlincrawler.com/armor/crossmember/crossmember-mount-hd

I'm not a fan of the solid mount. Too much vib even with the combination of the factory rubber transmission one. I bought one for an 88 turbo 4runner. All rubber like the factory rf1a and fit like a champ. Plus, it's carry a lifetime warranty from the local auto parts store.

Thinking about the TG bomb proof version. I'd rather pay more that give Marlin my money.

I wouldn't get the bomb proof mount. I tried it and the vibrations were bad. Just get the OEM RF1A mount and keep everything rubber.

I’m running the red marlin crawler tcase mount and I’ve been really happy with it.

I also ran the rubber oem mount for years too. Carry one as a spare along with a motor mount…

I tried both the marlin poly mount and tg bomb proof one. The Marlin one wasn't as bad, but still much more vibration than I wanted.

Here's my mount. 3/16 was fine for me

I ran that for a long time, just another option if you dont want to deal with Marlin.

Xs whatever on rubber though, but chain your motor mounts, or at least buy new OEM ones to keep the drivetrain twist down. I went back to rubber after using the poly mount, but I was also chasing some unique issues.

Those are way cheaper than MC and TG and serves the same purpose. IDK why they're so stupid expensive for some stamped metal, tube, and poly bushing.

Personally, I'm no fan of solid mount and will NOT recommend them to anyone. Use solid mount on my 22ret crawler two decades ago when everyone and their mom was taking about how strong and awesome they were. Switched to solid for the 2 motor mount and 2 tcase mount. 2 days later, all 4 end up in the city's recycling bin. God awful vibrating and noise I didn't know existed, lol.

I believe Adam at 4x innovations came up with the design first as well.

I mean all the setups have pros and cons. I ran that mount because I didn't build any extra crossmember and I wheeled it with a doubler like that for a long time with no issues. I am still running only a single mount but it's off the rear most case (lefty) and it's working ok.
