elbow mod ridge style

    So how do you like that mod and describe the differences in performance/mileage you saw please:) also I would like to hear from 1st-gens that have done the elbow mod if any.

    So I did some research and found this guy named Gadget who runs websites all about Toyota trucks and 4-runners and he actually did a dyno test on the elbow mod. I had a difficult time reading the exact HP gain on the elbow mod but from what I gathered he said "the cutout opening in the front of the airbox yielded 6.5hp-the elbow mod was very close behind that" so I take that to mean a possible 5-6hp gain with what I did? I'll take it:)

    4.10 gears, sliders, and lots of buttons.
    I would guess the gain to be around 4 hp. When I dynoed the Deck plate, it gave almost 8 on the 3.4.

    Cool I will take 4hp too-to me any help for the engine is good. That will do fine till I do the deckplate mod:)

    Its a Toyota what more is there to say.....
    TRD S/C 3" sky jacker suspension lift,33" kumho road venture mt kl71's 16" 320c pacer wheels,billet grill,EBC slotted and dimpled rotors,super 44 muffler with gutted cat,smoked l.e.d. tail lights, deck plate mod with K&N filter,fog/blinker mod,cobra cb with 4' firestick antenna/100W PA,clear corners with l.e.d bulbs,55w back up lights,urd O2 sim., blue l.e.d bulbs behind gauge cluster.
    the performance seems to be a lot better faster acceleration and my mileage is close to stock on the interstate i get 17mpg :D city still sucks though:rolleyes:

    well i notice a definate improvement in mine so I can imagine how much better yours is:)

    Update-I cut th remaining part of the elbow all the way back to that tab then reinserted it back into the fender. Much better! Apparently even what "L" part of the elbow was left was still a bit resricting. It gets a better dose of fresh air now and it shows.
