I have the one with the carbon shaft. Very nice trimmer... and the power auto feed is fantastic. And the other thing you can do with these Ego batteries is to power your e-bike. Just need to print a battery mount or harvest one from a dead tool.

If you get the Ego trimmer and have an existing shoulder strap save your $ and print the part below.

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
NOT TRUE!!! on the leaking oil! I have 3 stihl gas saws -New 261CM and two 20+y/o saws (021 and 170) None of the three leak any oil.
What a royal PIA it would be to always drain oil from a saw after you use them!!

TLDR whole thread but i have a Ryobi 40v w/ 14" bar, I had a stihl 16" prior that worked well always started on the 4th pull but getting gas/oil etc is a pita it's nice too put a battery in and get it done. I have converted all my yard/ garage tools from gas/pneumatic too Ryobi 18v/40v i will never go back.

I don't know much of these other brands since I only go with Echo or Stihl due to my dads influence in working in forestry. As for fuel going stale I don't see it much of a problem since the synthetic 2 cycle oil mix comes with fuel stabilizer and you can always add seafoam fuel additives which has a two year fuel stabilizer to keep it good for two years.

I carry the same one in my truck all the time. The thing is a monster. Perfect for clearing the occasional blocked trail.

Buddy and I did a head to head on a freshly downed 6-8" poplar. Him on this Ryobi and me with the Silky. It was pretty much dead even making a clean cut all the way through (no limbing)

Either you have been lucky or I have been unlucky. If I don't drain the bar oil from my Poulon, the saw will be in a puddle of bar oil the next time I go to use it. Pretty sure the last chainsaw I used had the same "feature"

Me too. Gas, plug-in, cordless all drip a little oil. Not a ton. Even just keeping it on a piece of scrap wood is fine.

I've considered the Ryobi 40v for that reason. If you already have batteries, then it's a pretty easy choice.

Can you change your avatar? I find that one offensive! (J/K, sort of) :boink:

Yup, I have never seen one that didn't weep a little bit. Not a big deal.
