Last week my battery died for the first time after a 3 day trip out of town.. no lights were left on, wouldn't even jump from another car. Battery was pulling >2amps. It's roughly 6 months old with just over 12k on the odo. 2 days later same thing. Dead as a door nail, only took a few hours for it die that time after driving. Went to the dealership yesterday abd they did a battery load test and said everything checks out it's good to go, yet the BSM error won't turn off and the traction control light won't turn off, WTF? Guy says he can just have someone clear the code, and wouldn't give me a copy of the battery test results. Sure as shit, heading out the door for work today and the truck is dead again.

    1. Anyone have issues with truck consistently being dead?

    2. Who is running an aftermarket battery? What brand/model should I go with? (If it's even the battery that is bad)

How are you getting it running again after the Battery is Completely Drained?

Start by taking it to a different dealer if you can.

Road side assistance. Using one of those portable battery jump starters, I'm going to pick one up today just to have now. Yeah, I am going elsewhere for sure. There's probably 5/6 Yota dealers within 25 miles which is nice.

are you jumping it, going for a quick drive then turning it back off?
you need to run a while to recharge it.

if they tested the battery and its still good, either you are forgetting to turn something off or something is staying on after the vehicle is off.
    Have you done any mods?
Sounds like some sort of parasitic draw.

OR, surprised the dealer didn't already do this, check the alternator. could be screwed up and not charging which is why you keep having a dead battery.

for jumpers I have a Noco GB40, works great for my VW diesel, have used it on a toyota echo, subaru forester, ford f150 and a 4runner. worked perfect each time. so highly recommend it. good for a 6L engine.
next model up is nice too but I find a huge design flaw in that the light is the other end of where your cables are so if jumping at night you can't shine the light where you need to work.

Explain to them your frustration with the other dealer. They're usually happy to help if it means a future customer.
