I saw someone put up a video of this switch type thing that was attached to their pipe. I was wondering If anyone knows what that is called, has any reviews / opinions on them and any idea how much they cost.
    Thanks! :D

Yep all of you have the right Idea, thank you! I think this is superb however It leaves me some simple questions like about how much does it cost or, should you drive with the manifold closed for very long etc.
I would think this isn't typically GOOD for the truck but If it's okay to run just until outside of a neighborhood or for a morning remote start warm up then I'd be very much inclined to proceed further with research.

It is more useful for hotrods and musclecars than a taco. You'll have little to no backpressure, so less low end torque. I learned with my mustang that neighbors don't care for them either, but pull up next to a little rice rocket honda, open em up, and let em hear 450hp dumped right after the headers.... pure sex!

    ^ this.

Mostly ricer's use exhaust cutoffs around this town, and it doesn't matter what they do, it still sounds like their driving a damn weed-eater. But my next-door neighbor has a 2008 Corvette Z06 w/dual cutoffs and it's a beast. Your truck, your rules... it's inexpensive but IMO, not a Taco mod I'd do.

I feel like I got into the way back machine. They were doing this in the 1950's on real hot rods.

Illegal in most states, although since you live in Texas you're probably alright.
