Happy to report that Harrop Eaton ELockers are now available for later Tacomas. We import and stock Harrops to replace non-OEM factory lockers in back and offer a non-air locker for the front.

Visit www.Yotalockers.com for fitment, part numbers, pricing and tech info.

Also doing a Cyber Monday Sale on November 28. Email us for pricing too low to publish - info@yotalockers.com

    Thanks!

Thanks - Georg Esterer runs the parts business and makes all things possible! I (Ward Harris) mostly pound on a keyboard and sell long range tanks :spending:

I think the Harrops are a great concept but unfortunately they’ve priced themselves out of the market. If they dropped the price by ~$300 I believe they’d sell 10 times more than they do.
At $1,300-1,400 each, there’s quality pieces for less coin that have been tried and true. ARB for one, is ~$900 each, plus compressor. 2 ARB’s for ~$1,800 plus $300 for compressor is $2,100. 2 Harrops is $2,600-2,800. It just doesn’t make financial sense to go with the Harrops at their current pricing.

As someone who sells both ARB and Harrop, our sense is that it comes down to personal preference and perceived value. Both are quality products - they do much the same thing in different ways. There are drawbacks and positive attributes for both.

We have sold around 500 Harrops in North America in the last four years, a rounding error in ARB terms, but probably 450 more than Harrop sold here in the prior four years. What we have learned is:
    • Some people love ARB air systems - compressor/tank, lines and actuator system - relatively less expensive to purchase, popular/proven, brand identity
    • Some people hate ARB air systems - compressor/tank, lines and actuator system - air leaks, diff oil blow-backs, failed actuator seals, noisy compressor (on trail, running to keep locker actuated with leaky line)
    • Net installed price not that much different - ARB may be 10% less as part of a total build/install with lockers, compressor, labor, gears, etc.
    • Total life-cycle cost of ownership including maintenance, repairs, etc. probably similar if air lines or compressor need maintenance or upgrade
    • Harrop is a performance company (engines and traction) and build small runs of high quality products by hand - will never blow out 40,000 units a year
Bottom line? Both fine products that will work. It is just a matter of style......kind of like deciding between a new Tacoma or a new Colorado....or JL Wrangler. All good, just different.

As for price - we have three A13457 Harrops 8.4" rear - on the shelf, sale priced at $1,195 ($200 off list) each with free shipping and a free OE 2-locker rotary switch from the 80 Series Land Cruiser. We have a sale every Thanksgiving and it is wrapping up.

Like I said, both good, just different. We sold one to a guy in Siberia with a 200 Series - his ARB air lines kept freezing - same report from low-temp owners in North America.

    Thanks!

Any chance there will be an e-locker for the 10.5" axle in the Tundra?

Is Harrop making them for the front IFS of the Tacoma? If so, and at $1,195, I may have 2 sold for you!

Yes, we have sold a bunch of them. Two models, depending upon gear ratio. Yes, on sale at $1,195. Email info@cruiserbrothers.com with your gear ratio and details on truck.
