    Nope.

My alternator alone has been under water so many times in the past 6 years I couldn't count that high. Keep it clean and they will work forever.

The starters on the other hand are so low they like to suck mud and stop working for me.

    This.,..

Ive had water in my cab numerous times over the years with no major issues.

It's all about prep work and if you do fuck up about what you do after to fix it.

What exactly do you mean by nada? To me, nada means nothing.

    UPDATE!!!

It's a total loss, guys... They said legally they have to total it when there is this much flood damage because the problems associated with it would be ongoing, as mentioned previously in this thread. Not the worst news. I was prepared for this. I already got started on parting it out. Check out the part out thread here.

Moving forward, they will determine two dollar figures. One is the fair market value that this truck would sell for if it wasn't totalled, which after doing some shopping around myself will be a decent number, upwards of 15k. They get this number by finding 3 or 4 trucks of the same type and configuration that are selling or have been sold in the last 90 days and average them. Since my truck has almost every package option you can get in an 09 Tacoma except built in Bluetooth, this should be a high number, and I want this number to be high. Because then they determine the salvage value this truck would sell in it's current state, i.e. totaled due to flood damage, and subtract this number from the fair market value. They then pay me that amount and hand over my truck. There is not much I can do right now to help my numbers either way so I just have to wait for the total loss guys to call me Monday or Tuesday. They have the pictures of all the aftermarket stuff I put on it, which will only increase the value of the truck, but obviously not dollar for dollar. And since I'm doing a buy back, I don't have to drive all the way to Mobile to sit in a parking lot with a couple friends and a few toolboxes removing a bunch of parts.

My biggest worry right now is if salvage yards are willing to pay a lot for Tacoma's since they are so popular. Which would mean a high salvage value, and less money in my pocket to help offset the cost of a new truck.

I'll keep everyone updated as I get more info, but in the mean time, check out my part out thread and start claiming all those little parts you've been meaning to replace!

Called Angelo's, a local salvage yard, they said my truck can auction for up to $10k and a salvage yard would probably take it for around $5k. So not bad really. That means I can probably get around $12k from insurance, use that to get another Tacoma, swap my aftermarket stuff, then sell it either at auction or just to a salvage yard. May even end up making money! Haha

Now they must determine the salvage value of the truck and issue me a check and I go pick up my truck. Then I'll take that check and buy me a replacement truck!

The truck I showed you before, the 1999 Tacoma, I think he only wants $6,500. For it. I have more pictures if you'd like to see more. Or not.

Thanks, but I think I want something older for my offroad toy. Much like the one you have.

I can understand that. I'll keep my eye out for a true classic.
