Has anyone had any success with disabling the function that limits which features maybe accessed while in motion? Navigation for example, why can't my passenger enter an address while in motion?

Does anyone have a "hack" for this ?

Yeah do a search and people make the harness to do this. There Isnt a “hack” per say. You have to disable the gps from showing the truck is in motion.

There are several threads on doing this. I did find it a little confusing when researching doing this. I used this backup camera anytime harness a fellow makes. It lets you splice into the wiring without messing with the factory harness.
    https://www.anytimebackupcamera.com/product-page/camera-override-dongle-28-position-1

I did the backup camera anytime and navigation anytime mod at the same time. The only thing I did differently is add a small 5 pin relay to the navigation anytime mod so the switch operates properly. I've been running the mods for several months and they work perfectly.

Your avatar/info says you have an OR ... but on my 2016 OR the air conditioning controls are different. Is that a pic your OR, or an SR5 or did they change from ‘16 to ‘17? Just curious ...

I understand the confusion. Yes I have an OR. Mine originally came with the three button center console. I changed the console to the 5 button console. I don't have the tech package so maybe that's why our buttons are different.

I also installed an extra power outlet in the place where the auto heat/cooling sensor goes (I think that's what goes back there, mine was empty so I drilled it out and put the power outlet there.)

I guess it’s the tech package and auto climate control ... I assumed that was standard. I rarely use the auto setting, after 45 years of adjusting my own settings, thanks, and I don’t like that I have use a separate switch to turn the fan off, even though the round fan speed knob turns the fan on.

Thanks, I'll take another look. The terms I used didn't result in anything. It appears this thread has turned up some leads.

    I use the Crux AVITY-01
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01CL52FLI/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_c_api_gS0zAbBSRZ3FT

It lets you override the system while moving and will allow adding A/V sources like cameras though I only use it for overriding the system.

The best part about this kit vs the others on here is you don’t have to install any more buttons, it activates by holding the track down key on the steering wheel for 3 (maybe 5) seconds.
Plug and play behind the radio headunit no cutting or other wiring

It is the switch panel that comes in the trucks with the tech package. Mine came with the panel that only had three switches. So I ordered the part from Toyota (it wasn't cheap).

There are several threads on that switch panel, I'll try to find them. It wasn't easy getting to it but I think it was worth it. I couldn't have done it without the help from the great folks here.

I removed the Qi thingy switch which I found useless, and installed the switches for the rear camera anytime, navigation anytime, and a switch to activate the rear light strobe.

The red lights on the left I installed as additional indicator lights, so I'll know if I have accidentally bumped on of my light switches.

Yes you're right. U have it and he don't. That's the reason why his climate control are different. Basically you have the dual climate control and he don't.

Ahhh, gotcha. Looks like all the surrounding panels have to come off before that center one can. Kind of a pain! I'll keep it in mind, I'm not exactly hurting for more switches, but I'll keep the spot in mind haha.
