This is perfect for what I spend time doing - basically setting up a base camp with my Tacoma and spending the day in deep, dark canyons. All of my food and cookware is waiting for me at the end of the day. I really like the idea of not using/carrying gas to cook with...as much as I love my jetboil. I'm also really interested in the possibility of grilling food instead of just rehydrating Mountain House!

To be fair, the charging times are substantial.

Emergency charging needs is not what the BioLite is designed for, nor the capability.

I meant emergency in the sense of having the ability to charge and thus having a phone available at some point, versus having a dead phone and a spare fuel canister with a more common backpacking stove.
Not the ability for it to charge quickly.

I am very interested in a Basecamp if you get enough participants. If not, I'll jump on the campstove.

That's ok, With your USMC experience, you're far more able to deal with (low yield propane) grenades than I am. :hattip:

    Simple marketing rules.

Manufacturers tell vendors they are not allowed to price an item below a certain amount.

If they do, the vendor could get penalized or lose the privilege of having a relationship with that vendor.

The vendor is sneaking a good deal to the forum members in form of this group buy and decided to discount the price below that set minimum priced amount "MSRP".

If the anyone posts the final price, the vendor could get in trouble with the manufacturer and the manufacturer can shut down the group buy and penalize the vendor.

I'm going to be that guy again... Can I be added back on the list? Weighing some pros and cons of this vs my Jetboil and this has more pros. I PROMISE this is my last flip flop. :)

I have it on good authority from my contact as well as on various web reviews that while the sove is virtually smokeless, smoker woods like Hickory, Mesquite & fruitwoods impart their flavor to whatever is being grilled. I imagine that Traeger pellets would probably work as well if not better.
