Engine tapping mod

I found this mod over at Toyota Nation. Has anyone ever heard of this or done it?

Haven't heard of it before, but it sounds simple enough. If you don't like it, just take the o-rings back off.

 

Are you going to try it Surfspl? Let me know if works. My 09 is also making the same noise. I have taken it in once and was told it was "normal". I am working with the customer service manager, I have her attention as I have not sent in my survey yet from when I bought the truck.

 

It seemed to work for some, but not for others.

05 with the same thing...and the stealership says its normal..

 

Did not work at all. You will get use to it.

 

I did it to mine, 2 rubber O-rings, one betwwen the head and bracket, the other between the bracket and intake manifold. quieted it down noticeibly.
