Entire Engine Replacement

    I agree something isn’t adding up. In my case my truck has been babied and has 77k. They took a look with a bore scope and found scoring on the cylinders of the engine so sure enough it does need one. I called corporate but I’m pretty disillusioned with the situation. It’s technically under cpo warranty 100,000/7 year power train. When the dealership called Toyota warranty they said they needed the dealership to find the exact point of failure to determine if it’d be covered. The dealership told me this could up to 14 hours of labor that could not be covered by the warranty if Toyota denied the coverage. That’d be 3k of labor plus potentially still needing a new engine that isn’t covered? I’m baffled by the situation.

    Yikes, what a terrible 1st post. Poor guy. I hope he got a good prorated price for giving them that other engine.

    Engine failure is not unheard of on these trucks . Sorry for your troubles I would have it towed to the dealer on their cost and give u a loaner till it is corrected then sell the truck . Best of luck .
