    Hey everyone,

Just purchased a 2019 TRD off-road with the entune system and it keeps ending my phone calls and dropping them (iPhone X with software 14.2 installed). I searched in the forums about this and it seems fairly common, although it hasn’t been addressed in awhile. I brought my pickup in to get the system updated and updated it with entune app as well. I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling the app, hard resets on the system, deleting my phone and re-adding it to the system and just about everything else. The system will automatically show “call ended” and drop the call around the 2 minute mark every time. Has anyone had these problems, and if so how did you fix them?

    Ted

I’m already up to date on everything, as the Toyota dealership did it yesterday. But, it’s still dropping phone calls. Any ideas?

Ah! I thought it might have been longer, esp as that TSB was recently updated to add newer versions.

Typically, the FW update is what fixes the problem. The only other hope is waiting on a phone OS update.

For the issues I had, it was a combo of the H/U and phone update to fix it.

throw it away and get a real head unit. mine has done the same thing for several years, even with all of the updates. i've never updated the unit and just used my air pods to take calls. super annoying with how much we spend on these trucks.

A Google search seemed to find a few possible solutions to try:

    1. Turn off LTE in the cellular/roaming function
    2. Connect your phone to the charger while driving

iPhone's are a PITA when it comes to connecting to anything that isn't an Apple product.

Turn off LTE for the cellular on my iPhone or on the head unit? Thanks!

Id say take it to the dealer and have them update it. They usually charge nothing for it and that fixed my issue before.

Entune has been a failure since it was initially installed on second generation trucks.

Best to avoid it, replace it with a new head unit.

I already brought it into them and had them update it, I’m thinking it’s my phones problem actually. My fiancé’s iPhone 8 works great on it. Might just have to get a different phone.

This is why I seldom do software updates on my iPhone. I’m still on 13.6.1 on an Xr and all is well. Can you roll back updates? Or factory reset maybe? Good luck OP.

Well like a lot of people here my iPhone 12 OS 15.1.1 keeps dropping calls. I got the latest software that was posted above 1017A I believe it is. I installed it. Then I forgot the Toyota in Bluetooth settings on my phone and rebooted. I then removed the iPhone from my Tacoma's Blue tooth and restarted the truck. After pairing everything again the problem still exists. The new software didn't fix it.

I’m in the same boat. Just about 2 weeks ago, my phone calls started resetting the headunit when on Bluetooth. Now I need to start searching the threads for an possible solution. Had the dealer to the TSB update 0003-20 per the link above and it didn’t help.

Same issue here—any ideas? I’ve also gone through every setting and update I can think of.

In our neighborhood, there are several short maybe 50 yard stretches of road that routinely drop hand held cell calls when driven through. I guess the tall pines and hilly terrain interfere with the tower signals. My entune drops calls in those same locations, sometimes with a full restart and sometimes with a blackout and curiously picking up the conversation. I've only experienced this in our neighborhood.
