Sub’d, hoping for a fix. My 16 TRD OR did it, and now my 18 PRO does it. iPhone X, seems to mainly happen when using Siri or receiving phone calls. Dealership basically shrugged and blamed Apple.

Mine does this sometimes with my 7 Plus when switching where the audio comes out of (phone speaker or truck speaker).

Happened again this morning, I was trying to get a song to play using the steering wheel connection to Siri (holding the top phone button). The connection started but never got to the point where I could ask for the song, so I hit the hang up button to disconnnect. My XM radio started playing for a second, then a reboot.

Just frustrating...Toyota not taking action and blaming Apple.

For all of you complaining about restarts, I'm just going to say one thing. Notice no Android people in these threads....

I was thinking the same thing. I have no issue with my Samsung. Why would anyone keep sticking with Apple? I dropped them 5 years ago and never looked back.

I read that the restarts occur when the iPhone is both connected via bluetooth AND plugged in to the usb at the same time. I play music via bluetooth and plug the phone in to charge. I would think this is how a lot of people play music in their cars.

Mine has restarted 3 or 4 times on long trips, and every time I was plugged in and connected bluetooth. Doesn't seem to hurt anything, but it's dumb. Bluetooth is crap, but we all rely on it now.

Thanks. I think it probably has something to do with the bluetooth and software. We'll see if the dealership can come up with a software update when I do my 20k service... I like the Entune, just not the other apps on it...

I have a 2017 Pro with the rebooting issue. It started about a month ago. Dealer installed software update - still rebooted. Reboots both when bluetooth paired with phone and when not paired with phone. Deleted phone from entune system and still randomly rebooted. Disconnected/re-connected battery - still randomly rebooted. No apple products - using a Pixel 2. Dealer will now replace unit.

2017 Entune JBL - Iphone 6s - I see the reboot when I'm listening to music via bluetooth and attempt to make a phone call using headunit preset. Seems random - sometimes works - sometimes doesn't. I charge my phone via power outlet and not USB. Was going to mention it at next service.

My entune headunit started rebooting non stop today over and over out of the blue after 8 months of daily use. Took it to the dealership and they couldn’t fix it so they’re having to order a new unit. I love the entune system but wonder why it’s doing it.

I just bought a 2018 4Runner with the Entune JBL and it's doing the same thing. I thought for sure it was hardware till I read this thread. I use the iPhone X. When driving, I like to use the voice feature on txt messages and noticed it'll reboot when trying to do that. Also, using the "hey siri" feature will trigger a reboot probably 1 out of 3 times. I downloaded the entune app and it did a SW update (not sure if that's the firmware update I need) but still doing the same thing after the update. Knowing there's a guy in here that had his radio replaced and still didn't fix is unbelievable. It's surely just a SW issue but I can tell you this sucks having to deal with this with a brand new ride. My '14 runner had exactly zero issues like this. Guess I'll just use the USB for now and talk to the dealership when I get my 1st service. I wish there was a way to disable the phone portion of BT and just use audio. You can do that every time you get in the car but no way do I want to deal with that.

It’s an issue with iOS 11. A couple of the early betas worked without issue but it’s been a probably basically since release. I can say it is happening less frequently but still happening. There are supposed to be some Bluetooth fixes in 11.3 so I’m hoping that finally puts this problem to bed.

Well, I thought I would take off my apple watch and try it without that and also left my airpods inside and couldn't duplicate the issue again and tried many times. How do you know this is an Apple OS issue specific to Entune systems? Is there another thread talking about an issue with the OS causing Entune systems to reboot?

There’s a few different threads. I had no issues until updating to iOS 11 and have had the issue with both an iPhone 7 and iPhone X. It’s also happening on entune on more than just the Tacoma. I have a buddy that has the same issue with his rav4 and there’s a few threads I’ve seen in other places that are having the same issues with multiple different vehicles. All since iOS 11.
