Entune Update 6/9/2017

It changed the icon for pandora haha but that's all I've noticed

 

That's literally the only visual difference I noticed as well.

 

Maybe pandora will start working well with my phone again...

 

Having issues? Mine works flawless....so far.

 

I understand that.... I'm saying there are different types of updates.

There are OTA updates (over the air), like when you started your car, that change very little, mostly just app updates to entune.

And then there are actual system updates, that the dealer has to flash. That fix possible system/software issues, like Bluetooth connectivity, etc.

 

Ah gotcha. I believe system update can also be done through air. If your connected to the Entune app on your phone and there is an available udpate, you can download it. Did it in my Corolla when I had it.

 

It's downloading new OTA firmware for big brother to monitor you... I stopped allowing auto login for the app on phone. I haven't seen it today.

It isn't likely that you have anything Big Brother is interested in looking at anyway.

ok, we're going to try this one more time.... In very simple words.

1) There are non-important updates that prompt you to download and install.

2) There are more important updates that only the dealer can install with TechStream.

Mandory Schmandatory . . .

Every time I started my truck today when the bluetooth was enabled (even though Entune is not running) on my cellphone I was greeted with this:



But when I actually let it do the "Mandatory" update it tells me this is what it's fixing:





I never use ANY of that stuff . . .

 

I hope it fixes Pandora too. Mine would only work when I unlinked and relinked my pandora in Entune, then restarted my phone and the unit.

 

I didn't even get that screen. Just the first one them boom, downloaded. But thanks for those pictures. But yea, mostly useless app updates or just those cryptic background fixes that say *Fixed misc. bugs*

 

Well I'm getting a brand new OEM H/U in couple of weeks. Hopefully it will have all the updates?

 

I use Pandora every day. It works for me 99.8% of the time with no issues.


When it has a problem I typically get a limited connectivity or tethering error on the HU and/or phone. I turn BT off and back on to fix this most of the time. Other times.. I have to reboot my phone.


I do not use the premium Pandora and I have a suspicion that when it will not play and shows no connection problem that there is response banner that is hidden by the entune app.


The base if my theory is this .. IF I play Pandora without the Taco (on PC or phone) I get the "are you still listening" banner occasionally. Since I get the inability to play Pandora only occasionally when a connection error is not present…….
