Once in a while, I buy an online product that exceeds all expectation.

This afternoon Amazon.com delivered my $13.76 order for:

TCP Global Heavy Duty Rubber Eraser Wheel 4” Inch Pad & Adapter - Pinstripe, Adhesive Remover, Vinyl Decal, Graphics Removal Tool.

The product was easy to use, worked as advertised, and I am very satisfied with the results.

It took roughly 10 minutes to remove the first decal. The second in 5 minutes.

    Pictures listed below.

    1) Removing the old decal. The trick to using the eraser is to keep moving and avoid letting the wheel get too hot from staying in one location.

    2) After removal, there will be a residue of eraser dust and some small amounts of adhesive. Don't worry about the adhesive, it can be easily removed with Bug and Tar Remover.

    3) Bug and Tar Remover worked well to remove any adhesive residue and eraser dust.

    4) After removal, do not be surprised if there is a difference in the pain that has been covered by the old decal. I will most likely replace the decal in the near future. Otherwise, I will live with the difference until the paint bleaches out from exposure to the sun.

Interesting ... I've been thinking of removing the badges and TRD decals on my truck to go more stealth.

A heat gun would work just fine, actually well enough I've used it to move ID stickers on my boat and readhere.

Finished removing the old pinstripe. It was hard as a rock and cracking. I removed the upper (widest) stripe using my heat gun and a plastic scraper on the passenger side. I still had the smaller pinstripe and a lot of tape residue to remove. The plastic scrapers started melting from contact with the hot paint surface. On the driver side, the stripe was noticeably harder to remove. I suspect that side was exposed to more sun from an open carport that baked the stripe over time. So I used the eraser wheel. It really made short work of the process. I think one "eraser wheel" will remove the TRD and pinstripe before being totally used up. I followed up the decal removal with Turtle Foaming Bug and Tar Remover to clean any remaining adhesive residue. There is very little paint fade under the old pinstripe.

I plan to get a new black pinstripe and new TRD decal to cover up where the old decals and stripes had been. Here's a picture with the decals removed. You can see the reflection of the Taco's driveway mate showing through in this picture. I will reinstall the wheel flares after I give it a good detailing with my DA polisher one day next week.

I just did this yesterday. Pretty easy and does a great job of removing the trd sport decals on my silver 2016. Just keep it moving as others have said. Does make a bit of a mess with the eraser dust.
