Just moved to the north side of Los Angeles and I'm having a hard time finding trails that aren't shut down! I'm not looking for anything crazy, just a place to have some easy fun and get away for the afternoon. Any thoughts?

    Where in north side?

Santa Clarita has a ton of stuff. Azusa canyon/Cleveland is shut down. Up the 15 and off 139 has ALL KINDS of stuff

    Thanks!

Santa Clarita is not far from me. Any place in particular that you like? Also, hilarious GIF.

I'm a big fan of Rowher Flats and Drinkwater Flats but there are a bunch up there.

A simple Google search will do a lot in finding what you're looking for. Most of the trails there get you quite a bit back and I'd recommend you don't go solo and BRING A MAP/compass

Alltrails.com will let you search for off-road trails near you for free on desktop. The app and extra features cost money though

I was going to recommend Rowher, too. It has a pleasant fire road that snakes over the mountain and lets you out on the other side (by a reservoir whose name I forget). Very light 4-wheeling on that route, and anything remotely difficult has a bypass (it's a fire road). Rowher also has a lot of dirt bike trails and some hairy jeep trails, so just like anything else, be careful.
