    Hey guys,
Noticed that there wasn't a dedicated thread for Evil Manufacturing/Dirt Kartel Tacoma thread and decided to share my experience with this product. I purchased a Rugged Radios RM-60 VHF so I could have some coms while out on the trail. LINK: https://www.ruggedradios.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=2013

I was looking for a solution that I would be able to mount my antenna somewhere on the truck but wasn't really comfortable with the magnet mount that was provided by rugged. I was mostly looking for a cleaner look so I don't a large "bulge" of a magnet sticking up on top of the cab. I was recommended the Dirt Kartel 3rd brake light by a friend because he was doing this install as well on his truck. I started looking into it and realized that it was the perfect solution that I was looking for. I am able to mount the radio antenna and a bonus of adding a baja designs dust light:thumbsup: Doug at Evil Manufacturing offered awesome customer service. I would highly recommend this product for anyone that is looking to mount their radio and dust light:)

    OPTIONS:
You are able to buy the 3rd brake light with OR without the radio antenna mount on top of the mount. Available for 05-19 Tacoma’s.

Curious to see everyone else who has the mount. POST THEM UP!

It’s this a bolt on mod or do extra holes need to be drilled?

It requires drilling and use of rive nuts

Someone here installed one recently, but IMHO looks a little red neck especially with the rivets and having to drill. But, it’s your truck, do it if you want.

Did a blind man weld that, or is it the corner of a plastic box stuck/melted/glued to a metal backing plate?
    It looks like shit IMO.

Hopefully you didn’t also pay full price for that radio. Huge ripoff for a $100 rebranded Chinese radio.

I hope it's a poor attempt of someone using JB Weld.

The third brake light can be redesigned to hide the weld and without drilling holes. I love that is metal compared to plastic and the light can be changed without removing the whole assembly. It can be an awesome and appealing third brake light imho!

Very cool concept but as others have stated, it could probably be better executed. For myself, I wonder about mounting a ground plane antenna at the back of the cab rather than right in the middle. It seems like you'd be giving up quite a bit of efficiency. And at this point, you're drilling more holes in the cab of your truck anyway so why not just drill that hole in the middle for the NMO mount.

Don't 3rd gens already leak at the 3rd brake light? Why would you then drill holes

Those can barely be called welds... I would be upset if I bought something that had welds that looked like that. :boink:
