The gap issues were one of my biggest gripes with Weather Techs.

So I opted for Husky Liners this time.

Same gap issues, if not worse.

I repeat.. only the Limited trim package has the non-rusting frame. When it was released, it was the costliest of the Tacoma trim levels and therefore has a more advanced frame exo-skeleton.

OZ is right then, you have a 6 year frame. So do I, but I don't live in snow/salt country.

Wow thank you Toyota. Glad I will be rid of this thing in 2 or 3 years. Not gonna waste a lot of money on mods now

Wow this is bullshit, if they know there is an issue why keep building them with the same shitty frames?

Still #1 in it's class. We'll see how the next gen goes, been a problem since Tacoma began production.

    Hang on

You initially didn't care about the rust problem because you only keep vehicles 2-3 years but now you don't want to mod your truck , which incidently lowers resale value , because of said rust issue

I really really don't like steering us further off-topic... But unchained, just protect the frame, mod the truck how you want, and keep it forever like everyone else. Why sell vehicles every 3 years? Isn't that a financial blunder? In my eyes, my truck does everything a 2012+ does except for the traction control options and some mild trim changes. I'm keeping it forever or until it has accumulated so many miles that a dealer actually wants to pay me extra to take it for advertising.

Just cover your frame with mud, and you're golden. I haven't done anything with the frame yet EXCEPT THIS.

, I just wash it after salt. Probably should apply fluid film.

Btw, jeeps have worse frame issues than Toyota. And honestly all it takes is a wire wheel and a better rust inhibiting coating. But I'm too lazy for that. I should probably fluid film every year before winter. I still have some time since New York hasn't really seen salted roads yet and I haven't driven it when there was.
    .
HOWEVER, if this makes things better, you have 6 years for frame replacement. So just make sure it goes before 6years is up :p

I hear what you are saying. I am not a do it yourself type of person. I am gonna have to pay someone to come over and treat my car with this film. And have it done correctly the first time. It is just sad that after owning a 1998,2001,2005,2010 and now a 2015 that some of the same issues are still present. So lets sell TRD Pro's for stupid prices and still sell the same shitty quality frames, springs and such
