Hi, I'm wondering if anyone can help and share with me if they have an experience or recommendations on an exhaust. I like the nice loud sound but I'm also looking for one that doesn't have a annoying drone when you're on the highway.

So far from my research they all have annoying drones on the freeway.

MBRP is on the top of my list for exhaust, and also get it for the sound not for the power as it won't give you any.

I have the Borla cat-back. I like the way it sounds. Pretty loud at WOT, but not obnoxiously loud. I don't really notice any drone. I'll be swapping it out for the URD spec-u exhaust soon. The spec-u is sitting in my garage. Just gotta find the time to install it.

I have the TRD cat back exhaust. It was dealer installed already when I looked at the truck so not sure what the factory exhaust is like. I like the TRD exhaust and don't notice much drone at all. Get some noise but not to loud. Not sure how loud you want, so it may not be loud enough for you. Seems to be just right for me.

Do you think you could post a before and after comparison after you install the spec-u? And thanks for the info!

I purchased a Magnaflow exhaust from Amazon. Have not installed yet. Cost was around $490.00.

Magnaflow. Keep the tail pipe long! No dump! Then you will be fine. Keep your factory pipes, and just change the muffler. Changing your pipes does next to nothing and Costs a lot. You can put a pretty tip on the tail pipe but don't go too crazy. That should give you a nice sound, have no drone, and keep your cost reasonable. To reach your goals, do NOT get a Flowmaster and do NOT shorten your tail pipe. Cheers.

do you have to cut and weld in order to install just the muffler? Which magnaflow muffler would you recommend?

I've got the 3" mbrp and I love it, it's pretty load. It does have a drone but any "loud" exhaust is gonna drone it's just something you have to live with, it doesn't bother me personally it's not so bad you can't drown out with the radio

For best results, cut and weld.

As for the muffler model, I would talk to Magnaflow, but you will like land in this one.

Oh, one last thing. If you change your muffler, maintain the stock pipe size in and out of the muffler. Do not increase the diameters. That would actualky hurt your results.

I wasn't happy with the exhaust sound on my PRO so I switched to magnaflow. Now I'm really happy with the exhaust sound. It puts a smile on my face when I rev up my minivan engine.
