Exhaust performance FACTS

I have a n08 2TR-FE w/ 5speed

I see a lot of opinions about exhaust, and sound clips are usueful....but I want facts. Much criticism exists, "sound doesn't equal power", and I'm sure this is a fact.

I'm looking a technical explanation of what exhaust modification will actually provide a performance gain, and why.

What does equal power in the exhaust world?

Looking for facts on choosing and exhaust for more low end torque?

Also, facts on choosing an exhaust for more top end HP.

Fact: Tri-Y headers increase torque in the low to mid range. Only applicable on 4 cylinder banks. LC Engineering might make them. So might Doug Thorley. Check LCEPerformance.com and urdusa.com
