Looking to upgrade my exhaust for some better sound. I have already installed a lift kit and bigger tires and now want to be able to hear more throaty exhaust. Looking for input on the best options.

Mine currently has a MRBP from the previous owner but it sounds pretty good to me. Probably going to get a skid plate reroute soon so I may seen what the muffler shop offers since mine dumps at the rear axle, so no need to buy a whole system.

I think some people run Flowmaster and I think there's a vendor on here that offers Borla.

This is one of those "whose pizza tastes the best" posts. Everybody likes their own pizza brand and will sell you on theirs. So heres my pizza brand that wont break the bank like some other brands. I went with a custom 3" piping from the y-pipe back. let me preface this with what my set up is, Doug Thorley long tube headers, URD performance Y-pipe (read 0 cat's). From the y-pipe back, I went with a Vibrant performance resonator with 3" collector paired with a Wicked Flows muffler with 3" collector. My thinking was that I wanted the option to expand my pipe size without the expense of buying a new rez/muffler. Looking back, I would have gone with the 2.5" model in both as I believe thats the size of our stock exhaust ducting. Ultimately, the muffler shop charged me something in the ballpark of 150$ for the custom routing. If you have your cats still, you might not need a resonator. I needed one to even out the v6 rasp scratchy throat sound. If you dont need it, lower your estimated cost by about 100$

    Mufflers:
    https://performance-curve.com/muffl...-high-performance-racing-muffler-2-5-wf-sc212 ~60$
    https://performance-curve.com/muffl...high-performance-racing-muffler-2-25-wf-ss214

    Resonator:
    https://www.amazon.com/Vibrant-1141-Ultra-Quiet-Resonator/dp/B000E3VHWI ~75-100$
(Amazon link because I can't open Vibrant's website due to firewall issues at work)

If you buy the TRD catback exhaust system, you'll be looking at something in the ballpark of 400$ plus the install if you decide to not do it yourself. The video below, isnt my exact system but it is very close.

the TRD Catback sounds best if you want louder than stock but without drone

Go with the TRD simple bolt, it’s one piece. Will take about 30 minutes to install and call it a day.

I'm biased, but if you want sound without drone, Black Widow Venom 250. It has a nice growl which makes it known you have exhaust but is not offensive and ricey sounding.

ARE Z-series shell, ImMrYo mirror lift, always on fog-lights.
I have the MBRP stainless steel thats turned down in front of the rear axle and have no complaints on the noise level or any drone with it and makes the truk sound better but it really is a personnal preference kinda thing.

TRD catback And TRD Intake sounds perfect IMO. Just the right amount of sound and throatyness from the intake. Best combo out there.
