Yep! I live in Northwest Arkansas.

I was going to hold off on getting the tent, but the wife insisted at we go ahead and get the tent, because she's ready to do some camping. Can't argue with that! :D

I see that you're located near Dallas.... Hmmm.... Maybe I can talk the wife into letting me snag some decals from ya while we're down there!

Made the trip to Dallas and back yesterday. I definitely recommend the parts dept. at Toyota of Dallas (TRDParts4U)!

Got home pretty late last night, and today my brother came over and helped me get this thing unboxed and mounted to the rack.
I'm very impressed with the quality of this tent. The pictures of it opened up in my yard were taken during 30+mph winds, and the tent remained very solid.

Can't wait to get out and use this thing.... Just wish weekends were longer!

Here are some pics (FYI, my yard isn't level at all):

    (PICS MOVED TO NEXT POST)

I had planned on finishing up the inner structure of the rack this next weekend, BUT.... if the weather is nice, I think we're gonna head down to Central AR (Mt. Nebo) to do some camping!

    :D

that is sweet, do you have plans for a 2nd Gen.? Or, do you know if your fab shop would be interested in knocking one up? NW Arkansas isnt that far from Wichita.

Wow, thanks for all the support/comments on this! I've got all the materials to build the sub structure, just haven't had the time yet. Been getting out on the weekends and enjoying the truck!

I'm going on a 200 mile forrest road tour this weekend, so I'll make sure and post up some pics of that, and the tent in use.
The next weekend should be good for me to get some more work done on it.

I'm going to be making and installing some bed sliders as well.... After a buddy had a close call on an off camber trail next to a tree, it made me start thinking of ways to prevent an ugly dent being put in my bedside.
Here are a few renderings to show what I'm talking about. The stick out approximately 3" from the bed side, and will help protect the bed side/flare in the event that the truck leans up against a tree.

Sorry for the crappy quality on the pics, took them from my phone.

We love doing this kind of stuff, but with us both having full-time jobs, time is the limiting factor. That said, if you really want one, we could schedule you in on a weekend sometime. Something like what you see pictured on my truck only took about 4-5hrs to build.
PM me if you want to bring your truck down sometime.

Damn wish I was near you, I'd be down there in a heartbeat!

Would you be willing to tweak your dimensions (on whichever program you are running) so that it will fit a 2nd Gen? I'd definitely be interested in something like that!
