I looked through a lot of trailer builds while planning my trailer and found many different ideas and discussions that helped me narrow down the numerous ways that different people approach their builds— I figured instead of just trolling other people’s builds I’d try to add some info to the pile, Not sure how much it’ll help but can no doubt show some people what not to do. This will take some time but will update it when I have a chance as I go...

I ordered all my metal yesterday is supposed to be delivered tomorrow
I also ordered my axles —I decided to go with the Flexride 2000 lb torsion axle halves ordered the adjustable model so can match lift on truck I ordered them from SD Truck springs
I found a set of stock rims on the Texas classified sticky so I will have two spares that will fit truck or trailer
Since the hubs on trailer are 5x4.5 and truck rims are 6x139.7 I had to find the spacers Was at a loss until I contacted wheel adapters Usa in Chino California and they were able to fix me up — even put the 12x1.5 studs in so can use stock lug nuts— will have to get hub centric rings pressed in before install but were great to deal with— will post more as get a good start or make more purchases

Ready for half axles-- built box 6ft by 4 ft out of 2x4 by 1/8 tubing axle is 2 1/2 X 1/4 spine is 2 x 1/4. Welded it all out with 5p and ran lo-hy due to vibration-- will trim tongue to length when get lock and roll hitch and axles set so rear tire and trailer tire are 10ft 6in. Now wait for ups and some time to clean up a bit

IMG_0068.jpg Sorry haven't updated in awhile, have had some personal stuff going but got my axles in and spacers still have to take to machine shop and get a ring made and pressed in to make them hubcentric so can use the OEM rims. I went ahead and put everything together so could measure placement of weld on plates to cross member to get desired clearance. I went with 3 inches am going to bend plate to make wheel wells since I am using off-road tires so don't have to worry about total distance from frame like I would was going with store bought.

I cross squared weld on plates off of forward center of tongue to front and back holes then welded ends and turned trailer over for last time and welded top. Plates are 3/16 and are matched to 2000 lbs axle halves from factory I welded them to the 1/4 crossmember -- I welded them with 5p and Low hy rods like I did the other frame componentsIMG_0072.jpg
I am working on sides and plate will post when get it all welded up

Was also the first time to try out tent lift with tent open— amazingly enough it worked— took a few adjustments to make work smoothly— used firgelli automatons 24in 250lb actuators9B112645-DCE2-4139-B8B4-DBEB82A3B62B.jpg
