Ok everyone what experiences have you had with online dealers? I've purchased two times in the last 6 years from local shops and I just haven't been too impressed with service, pricing, knowledge levels, attitudes etc.

Obviously its nice to have a name and a face to return to should you experience problems or issues, but I'm just weighing options. I'm looking at XDs/XDms and seeing a huge chasm between online and local shop pricing. What do you guys think? Pros and cons etc......

Supercharger, OME lift w/ LR UCAs, running boards, toolbox, extinguisher mount, skidplate, N-Fab light bar, 40" R.I. LED bar, WO seat covers, TRD intake, Weathertech mats and visors, stubby antenna, hood struts, LED interior lighting, Hella Supertones, and other stuff I'm forgetting.
I've ordered a few guns online via gunbroker with no problems.
They still have to send it to your local dealer where you will have to pay a transfer fee when you pick it up, so make sure you take that into account for the total cost. Most charge around $30 or so.
Especially with the big ticket items you can shop nationwide and save major $$$.

    I have bought guns from:
    Atlantic Arms
    Classic Arms
    Ray Tanner on Gun Broker
    Aim Surplus

All have been great experiences. I will probably never buy a gun locally, due to high prices. I am lucky I have a FFL guy who will do my transfers for 10.00.

Nice! yeah I'm considering a 17, but a XD or XDm is a little higher on list.

I’ve bought from Buds. Gallery of guns is another good place. J&G is good. Actually, there are lots of good reputable online dealers. When you find the price you want, ask for experience with that place. I have a G17, but heard nothing negative on the XD’s. There’s a ton of good dependable handguns out there. It almost comes down to personal preference. I’m not partial to any one gun manufacturer. Take a look at the line of Walther P99's.

Find the gun you want on buds and bring it too your local gunsho and see if they can match plus the cost of FFL transfer and then you dont have to wait.

So I assume shows have vendors from all over the country. Do the shows provide ffl dealers for your state on-site? And due to waiting period do they mail you the product?

Oh I see Missouri repealed their's in 2007. I guess the only wait I had last time I purchased (2008), was for the out of state dealer to ship to my local ffl.
