If you already bought the warranty when buying the car, can you cancel it for a refund, and then sign back up for it again if you can get a better price from another dealer?

Well, 2 of our last 3 cars needed this warranty. The dealerships, 2 at least, for our VW Passat missed a recommendation on changing the timing belt. It shredded 1k after our extended warranty. It was initially denied repeatedly, but after calling US Corporate and pointing out we always had it at a dealership for major services/tunings and never delayed on recommend work, US Corporate agreed they should foot the bill which required rebuilding the engine. Our current Nissan Juke had the fuel injector issue and just recently, the air compressor seized. The fuel injector fix was over 2k in repairs under warranty while the air compressor was $1,600 out of pocket.

For us, the extended warranties have/would’ve paid off in the long run.

I also found this thread very timely since we’re expecting to pick up our truck this week.

Yes, as long as the contract cancellation period has not expired. It is on your contract, maybe 30 to 60 days? We did this on my wife's Honda. The finance guy spent 10 minutes putting in the "employee discount code" and then screwed her for $4000. We canceled it and found the same for $900. How do these motherf*ckers sleep at night? There is a special place in Hell for them.
