It is, I just found Tacozords was a little over the top, zame idea just a simpler execution. To be hones the Bussman is pretty straight forward to use.

I think the thread is a great springboard to use as much or as little as you want and build what suits your needs but in the end it’s just an example of what could be done.

Agreed. That thread was my springboard into cleanly wiring accessories I do still reference it for parts #'s he has listed.

This is actually what I'm thinking. Silly question, but would I just use some self tappers to install it? Then is that enough or should I ground the bar with a ground wire from the main ground that the battery currently uses?

Never use self tapping screws on your truck. Once they strip out, you just have a rusty hole. There are enough bolts already to use those.

I used a power trays setup with Blue Sea 12 circuit fuse panel, Bussman 100A Breaker, and Blue Sea Bus Bar. All sorts of options here:

While I tend to agree that there are plenty of bolts, if appropriately sized self tappers are stripping out that is 100% installer error.

Never had that issue in Chicago. That road salt must hit different in Minnesota.....

They used to use sand, then they switched to a rock salt, now they brine and rock salt. 5 year old cars already have holes in them from the rust. Its nasty stuff around here.

Connect your buss bar to the battery terminal rather than the chassis lug. There are 6mm threaded holes all over the truck inside and out you can use for mounting the buss or just mount the buss right to the battery clamp.

hmm... i already have the auxbeam switch panel and the box sits on a mount i made that uses the two on the driver side. do you know of another location on the driver side for this? i like the idea of putting it on the battery clamp, but i have an irrational fear that something could come loose and fuck my day up

Grounds don’t short, only positive voltage can do that which is why the positive terminal is booted but not the negative so the fear is a bit irrational but so be it. I went with an rtmr on a custom tray mounted to those two 8mm bolt holes and my busses are mounted to the tray with 2-pin connectors for each accessory. In front of the battery down below are 3 holes, one is threaded for 6mm and the other two are not and are different sizes. Another rivnut there and you’re gtg or just use the one but I wouldn’t do it that way because it splits all of your wire pairs and is more exposed to boot. One of the main reasons for going with an auxiliary panel
Though is to organize the wiring both +&- and get those connectors away from the battery terminals since it turns into a rat’s nest pretty quickly. One positive cable from the battery to a breaker to supply the panel and one cable from your buss bar(s) back to the battery to ground it. You could mount your auxbeam switch panel and buss bar(s) to the same tray.

This thread is full of examples.

If you mean of the holes just pop the hood and look down. Virtually every time I’ve uncovered a body panel
there have been threaded holes, engine bay, center console, rear cab wall. Just two sizes 6mm and 8mm. I’m stuck as far as post new pics until I can access my PB account.
