Alright, the new bumper is on its way, it goes on July 18th. My buddy is going to reweld the tire holder for me when he finishes my spindle gussets right after the 4th. It will be good to go. Everything else is functionally fine the bumper itself wasn't hit at all. This is Alex's old bumper from Billy, it was powder coated by Jerry last January (at least I think it was January, Jerry correct me if you see this) prior to me picking it up. I'm asking $725.00 for it. A steal for someone. I'm located in Redding, but I need to get a mid skid and trans to finish my set from Jerry. So a BAMF meet up may be a possibility.

Here is the list of those that have pm'd me and shown interest in the order received.

There are some pictures of the damage to the tire holder in the NorCal spotted thread. I'll post pictures of the weld job when completed in early July.

    Cheers,
    -Jon

What caused the damage to the swing out? Does it have any issues opening and closing now?

Backed into a tree that was at an angle, and it torqued the tire holder because I had a tire on it. The swing out works fine. Just the weld gave. -Jon

Alright folks, bumper tire holder gets re welded tomorrow. And it comes off Sunday. Truck goes in Monday for the new one. I'll start poking the folks on the list Sunday evening once it is off. -Jon

I doubt it would get down to me. But you can take my name off the list. I'm getting my shocks rebuilt right now. So no money for bumper.

    Pictures of the bumper today:

The holder has been re-welded, however I messed up when bending it back. It fits a tire no problem and the weld is solid, but it is not level. It tilts down and to the 8 o'clock position slightly. I could not put the tire on after grinding it or it would have broken off due to the weight. If I were keeping it I would just shim it with a washer. Also, you can see where the tire bent the top bar, it is functional but looks off. I will pm Jerry tonight and see what he wants to cut it off and bend and re-weld a new piece there. This would be on the buyer though. It is only a cut and grind at two points to make this happen. I thought about using a tree to leverage it out, but I did not want to risk ruining the bearings, latch, or spindle. It is off tonight and I am off this week, and can bring it down to BAMF Tuesday-Friday.

    Cheers,
    -Jon

looks good Jon. Still interested if @Tee Arghhhhhh Dee and @Siblue pass on it.

Looks like the hitch isn't one of the hidden hitch ones. Does it hang below the bumper?

It is a hidden hitch, just a trick of the lighting, and I have a hitch step in there to help with opening the roof top tent.

And I'll keep you posted. Right now Jay has the the first shot at it. I'll keep everyone posted.

    Cheers,

Nah just a 25 dollar harbor freight step that extends the receiver. It allows me clear and to open the gate when that m101 trailer is on the hitch. Just a bump so I can clear that brake reservoir.

Hey Jon, How does your truck handle pulling the M101 trailer? pretty easy or to much? I'm looking to put my Tepui on one so I can get it off of my truck when camping.

Loves it. It tracks well, it is really easy to get up there in weight though it is 900#s empty. If I had it to do over again I would have kept my other one without the surge brake system. It was lighter by a hundred pounds. (Mostly on the tongue) also I am regeared to 4.56 so it pulls it easy. The trailer itself is a beast, it was hit in front of our house by a drunk driver going 40 mph and pushed into our matrix. Matrix =10k in damage and the trailer bent a 30 dollar lever.

It is on the bigger side, I have 4x6 box too. But to be honest if I only had one I would keep the m101. I will be welding a cross bar and replacing the pins to make a dump trailer as well. Great all around trailer, especially at the 400 bucks I paid for it at auction.
