Ya, you just have to play around with what tire tread/size/weight works for you. I'm running Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo II (now superseded by the III) in a 265/75/16 on my 2nd gen because they are on the lighter end of the weight spectrum and I don't need a super aggressive tread.

The 4.3" will be close to even with the fender and the 3.5" sticks out a bit. The 3.5" will probably have issues with rubbing at full lock/reverse if you're not lifting the truck.

@StrangeDuck yea on page 2 of the thread I posted the weights of the two wheels in 16&17 w the 265/75 and 265/70s that would fit In an AT3. Overall even at its heaviest its w the ray10s the weight is overall minimal. Your looking at a 24lb increase in weight between the 4 tires and wheels. I don’t see how a decrease or increase in that would effect performance or gas mileage at all. Usually my understanding is it would take more lbs then that

I know the 265/75r16 nitto ridge grapplers you can get in a 116T and weigh 48 lbs, loved mine, had them on 2 trucks, great overall performer and looker.

If your not planning on upgrading to bigger brakes go with the 16”. I only Went 17” on availability at the time and at the time I was swapping to the 5th gen TR4 brakes.

@nudavinci64 yea I’m not doing the breaks. I’m cool w what I got. The ray10s in 16x8 May become available soon they just sold out of the 17s. I put out an email to a couple dealers. But In 17s w tires I’m looking at about a 24lb increase overall with the 16s only 12. I don’t think that would effect a ton overall thou

Agreed, that won’t make much of a difference. Stick with a c rated tire and it will be similar to what you have now. E rated adds a ton of weight if your not wheeling hard. I have -38 ray 10’a in 17” and 315/70/17 km3. Now that is one heavy setup. 94lbs unfilled. Had 285/70/17 before E rated and the truck was a dog as well.

@nudavinci64 yea that makes sense. Close to 100lbs there. At most I’m looking at 24+lbs no biggie. I’m not lifting it so I’m stuck w 265/75/16 or 265/70/17. Nothing crazy. Get me an inch

+5-6 lbs/wheel shouldn't be too bad. You might feel just a hair less acceleration. I know when I dropped 5 lbs/wheel I could feel the difference...but it's not like I was getting blown back into the seat or anything.

    Here's what mine looks like (16 X 8 6 X 139.7 4.50" +0mm). I'm very happy with them. Stock tires to be upgraded later...

@Oly14411 awesome man thanks so much. I like the F5 but I think I’ve settled on the ray10s. These pics help cus I think I’m gonna go w 16x8 since I’m not doing a lift. Think it might overall fit the truck better.

    Think I’m 95% certain I’m getting the Ray 10s 16x8 with a 265/75/16 cooper AT3. I appreciate Greatly everyone’s input and pictures.

for me since I’m not Lifting my truck I agree w @TacoBuffet that the 17s in 265/70/17 May looked too cramped wo at least a minor lift. Think the look of the 16s in the above size tire on stock suspension will do the overall look to the truck justice.

as for my choice in the ray10s Over the F5s it’s mainly just because of preference and nothing against the F5. I like them. The Ray10 though I Feel has an edger look to them and they pop more. The Ray5 esp in the color I’m getting (matte black) can get lost in the tire for sure, they are much more a simpler design.

I plan on trying to powder coat the beadlocks as I read someone had done that. But I’ll get the on first and take a look. First thing I have to do is find a Set lol.

next I’m onto an after market grill. I was looking into https://www.etsy.com/listing/668656624/2018-20-tacoma-raptor-grille?ref=shop_home_active_3&crt=1

Someone posted recently they got one of these and the Quality was shabby. So idk. If I were to get one I’m not a fan of the raptor amber lights. I’d have to switch them for smoked or clear.

I’m leaning toward the pro grill from runnin4tacos w the Toyota Lettering in the matching cement color as opposed to the traditional silver.

For all that is good please don't ruin your tasteful build with raptor lights and that grille, I don't know, it's your truck and do what makes you happy, but its such a bro douche look in my opinion. It serves absolutely no function besides to copycat the raptor which actually needs them to fulfill DOT requirements. If you really hate the 2020 OR grille, I would just go clean and simple w/a pro grille.

@TacoBuffet yea I don’t like the raptor lights either. Someone 3D printed some black plastic end caps just blocking them out but u can’t get around the fact that it’s not a clean look. You can see where the light would be regardless.
But like I said leaning toward the pro grill in cement gray lettering

Maybe I’m biased but I think the 2020 front end is on point. Those taillights though. Thinking about going to a 19 set on mine.

@TacoBuffet yea I’m just not a fan of the grille. I like the toyota lettering but options are limited. Runnin4tacos has the pro grille w matching cement color lettering. Think I’m gonna go that way. Then try lost the 2020 grill that came w it for sale
