Yeah, the minute you lift the rear end more than 2" your u-joint angles are beyond their intended operating norm and the minute you install a carrier bearing spacer you are putting your forward u-joints beyond their spec too. Add in the axle wrap from blocks or longer arched lifted springs and it is a giant recipe for vibes.

Buy a digital angle finder and read this : http://www2.dana.com/pdf/J3311-1-DSSP.pdf and you will see that with any lift over a couple inches there is no hope of a truly vibe free drive line. Even if you don't think you have vibes it is only because your OE carrier bearing is a giant rubber donut that is absorbing the faults of that poorly designed two piece drive shaft...and that will give out eventually too.

The only real cure is a one piece double cardon driveshaft and a good center mounted Trac bar similar to the ATO design.

I need to raise the driver side spring i am sagging little. It ride alot better than the pro comp ones. When i hit dips my shocks to give a jarring effect. Still need to get them rebuilt.

Dumb-ass at Icon told me I had 16 inch coil

Still wondering if i should get a longer spring w/ 700, So i can release some of the pre load.

Un oh...hate to say it but that jarring effect is probably because you have them adjusted too high so the shock is topping out harshly when you hit dips and it rebounds. I had the same prob with my PC's when I had them cranked up too high. The only solution is to lower the truck so the CO's sit closer to the middle of your travel. An easy way to tell for sure is to jack the truck up and measure how much droop travel you get. If you have 8 or 9" of travel total but when you jack up the truck it only droops 2 " before the tires come off the ground = your topping out the shocks...hope that description makes sense

Well I'm glad I gave you good info! If they ride better at fully cranked then you need to add those 700# springs and back that preload off for sure. I don't think they need rebuilding yet, but while you are in there you might as well

at Least they are easy to rebuild, the only thing that sux is the guy that can do them does not have the ability to fill them up with Nitrogen. Good thing is icon is not very far away from my work.

I had to borrow that valve to do my rear shocks. At least you are close by though. I think when you get those 700# springs and remove that preload you will be very happy. Do you plan to change the valving?

    Yes
...but a 700 lb spring is going to ride much stiffer than a pre loaded 650 and it is only going to hold the truck up higher in the shocks stroke so the top out problem will not be resolved...the " jarring " effect is the shock topping out.

I hit a huge pothole in a parking lot and topped out today. Haven't dine that for awhile. How stiff were the #700?

I still prefer the DB vs 3" on potholes

I'm saying same size coil, heavier rate. That way he won't need to preload to get the height he wants. The icons are good from 6-7" of lift, so I'm curious how much he has them cranked.

I hope you got the warranty I'm hearing that the power steering pumps on the Tundras are blowing up with these DB lifts and big tires.

    No joke here..
