I have an 06 and much to my sadness, it was rear-ended in a parking lot. I just got it back from the body shop and the rear right side fender flare that had to be replaced was totally different than the other 3. I was not a happy camper. So now they are telling me that they discontinued the original flares. As you all know, the original flares have a texture to them and since my baby is dark blue, you can really see the difference. Does anyone know if there is truth to this and if so, where I can get an old one??? I don't care if it's used b/c duh, my truck is 3 years old! The flares they are putting on (all 4) have a gloss finish and match the body color but damnit, I want my original flares! =)

Whether the discontinuation of that particular part is true or not you are entitled to have your vehicle repaired back to its original state. If the quarter panel/fender flare finish doesnt match the insurance company must correct it by either refinishing the other undamaged flares, or having the body shop contact the dealer and figure our if it really has been discontinued. Dont let them get away with just throwing parts on your car and spraying some paint on it. Bitch them out and have them repair the truck properly.

    ^^ Good advice ^^

Haven't noticed on the newer models a different texture to the flares, I believe there was a TSB on painting them. Not sure it that helps or not. Check the sticky up top maybe?

What he said. My folks always had their vehicles repaired by the dealer. Insurance paid hefty for it, but the vehicles were fixed the right way (we think) and with genuine parts (we think).

I would call around to parts places on-line and also body shops.
I had my 05 right rear replaced end of last summer, and it was a perfect match.
I know what you are saying about the texture, a friend has the 08 in blue and the texture is different.
New or old part, some searching may pay off

Thanks for the info! I've done a little searching (local junk yards) and haven't found anything yet. Any suggestions on websites? If I do attempt to get one from an online source, I will def have to call about the texture. Any specific name for it??? Hmmmm. Let the search begin!
