Factory "Gold Line" parts??

    I just spoke with my local dealership and they have agreed to replace my factory radio under warranty....this is the 3rd time.

    The service manager made sure to tell me this should remedy my problem for sure this time. He said Toyota has had so many problems with this factory radio they are replacing all of the defective units with a system using all "gold line" parts.

    He said they are tired of complaints and are replacing any and all who complain of problems. So at least I did not get the brush off however it is a 6 week wait for backorders.

    So what is this 'gold line" radio the service man spoke of....is it the higher end units used in the Lexus models. Maybe this time Toyota will get it right and I am waiting to see this new factory "Gold line" unit before deciding on purchasing any other system parts.
