Hello all. I recently picked up a 2006 Tacoma with the factory towing package. I am currently replacing things that need replaced and doing all the maintenance. The rear hitch is rusted really bad so I am replacing it. I cannot seem to find the class 4 hitch that came with the truck. All hitches I am finding are class 3, rated at 5000 lbs. The factory towing hitch rated at 6500 is tied into the bumper hitch support, which is where it gets its extra support. Any information leading to the factory style class 4 hitch would be great, thanks.

Hollander Parts or check your local salvage yard for a used one would be my suggestion.

Where are you located? If someone local has installed an aftermarket rear bumper they might have one laying around....

I have already tried this website. I see the hitch I need but when I click on it to see the pricing and part number nothing happens. I also cannot find it when I scroll down to all of the parts.

If you have a part number just call or email a dealership local to you and ask them to order it for you.

I have called multiple dealerships and none of them seem to be able to find the towing package hitch. The attached image shows the hitch at the bottom, part of the part number is there but not all of it. When I click on the part number it does not bring it up, like something is wrong with the website. EFC3B4F5-430A-4986-BE96-04089917590E.jpg

    2nd.

@AJW09, let us know where in the world you are. I have one that came off my truck and is in pretty good condition that is free for local pickup.

The one you show there in your attached screenshot is not the correct one. Here is the class IV one you're looking for and unfortunately it's not cheap if purchasing new.

Looking to replace my rusted hitch/receiver on my '10 sport with tow package. I am towing a travel trailer so I don't want to get an undersized aftermarket for safety reasons. From what I gather we have a class IV receiver from the factory. Seems very difficult to get a new one. Checked toyota parts and it seems it is no longer available when I search : 51908-04010 part. Called junkyards around and there is nothing. Checked ebay and nothing. I also gather there is no aftermarket class IV to replace the factory one, only class III available. Which gives you a 8000lb rating max. The factory one (class IV) is rated to 10K I believe. I understand the tow package on the truck allows towing up to 6500 lbs. Anyone have experience replacing factory class IV with aftermarket class III? If so what did you get and what do you tow? Anybody find a class IV replacements? Appreciate any input anyone has.

My OEM receiver needs to be replaced and so does the back bumper. I can't seem to find the OEM hitch that allows the truck to pull the 6500 pounds that it was originally sold to pull. I need this hitch because 5000 pound rated aftermarket hitches are not strong enough for what I pull. Does anyone know where I can get a hitch for my 2009 Tacoma? It is an access cab SR5 TRD Off Road model with the 4L engine and the full factory tow package. I depend on this thing often to tow over 5K pounds so I really need the strong receiver that can regularly handle it. Thanks in advance for any help you may have.
