Does anyone know what the factory widow tint percentage is on the rear windows of an 09 Double Cab?

30% looked to be a good match as well.

My local Tint shop checked it with a machine they said it was like 27% however they put 30% on my truck. They told me that every tint manufacture has different standards so one company’s 20% might be another company’s 25%. Also color of tint makes a diff.

The tint shop put their standard black 15% Lumar film on mine and it matches perfectly.

I'm thinking of getting mine done... just called a local shop I used to use when I cared a lot more about my stereo... said that the front two on a Tacoma to match the back runs $80. Sound like a good deal to y'all?

I paid $140 for just the fronts...but I went with this tint (Pinnacle series), it actually reflects heat..it is super nice!

If I had just gone with your run of the mill window tint it would have been half that price.

That sounds about right what I paid. Also when I had mine done the gal at the front desk wanted to know what coloe tint, charcoal or smoke grey. I just asked her to have the installer make the decision for me. As it turns our my truck has either smoke or charcoal and my wifes car has the other, point is it does matter but the installer got a great match.

I was told that the factory tint is really just colored glass and does not offer the same protection as aftermarket tint such as UV protection. So unless you want to just do it for looks and privacy, just doing the front windows if fine. If you're doing it to keep the car cooler in the hot months, then you need to tint the rear as well. If you like the factory tint shade, then you can just have them install some "clear" tint which will not mess with the current shade, but give you the UV protection.
