The falken are very good tires. Some jeep guys like these and they use these for rock crawling and grip really well. Plus there cheap I was quoted for 4 (315/75/16) 1000 bucks so can beat that.

I have them, 285/75/R16, a little steering wheel vibe but work great on & off the road from what I have done.

I was debating whether or not to get Duratracs because I drive a freeway commute but still want an AT tire. The reviews of these tires are pretty good on 1010tire. Anyone else have experience with them?

It looks like the 265/75/16 is an E rated 10-ply tire weighing 50lbs. Thats overkill for a tacoma IMHO. The next lower rated tire is a 265/70/16 but it doesnt say the ply number or weight. Anyone have any info or pics on the 265/70/16?

The duratrac c rated tire weighs 45lbs for reference and thats on the heavier side as well...

Any other opinions about these tires?

Looking at 275/70R17, I like these tires on paper. Compared to the Cooper A/T3's, these Falkens are considerably taller and slightly narrower, which is what I want. They're also C rated, which is hard to find.

I also don't hate the way the look. Not bad. Better than the A/T3's imo.

I have never had them on any of the Toyotas that I have had but my wife had them on her F250 and and never spend so much time stuck than with these tires. They kind of remind me of a steer tire on a semi. Not alot of cross tread for traction. They do work great as an everyday street tire though. Dont know if that helps but that was my observation. Hope it helps.

All opinions are valid, so thanks. I do read a lot of varying opinions about this tire though - as is probably true of most tires I suppose.

Expedition Portal seemed to really like them:

Late post but I had these tires, great on the street. Nice 'n' quiet. But they only lasted 3 years, maybe 50,000km. Traction in the wet/snow wasn't great to start with but got to be downright dangerous towards the end and I was looking for any excuse to get rid of them. Sliding is fun when you do it on purpose, not so much when it happens by accident. It would occasionally break loose in the dry too. It was nice pretending my truck had 500 horsepower but ... nah. One picked up a nail so that was it for the set.

Ditched em. Towards the end the sipes on the shoulders were almost completely gone. I actually forgot the tires had them at all until I just went and looked at pics of them on 1010tires. They just showed the 2 main grooves down the tread with faint hints of maybe something that was once on the shoulders

They were a good deal when I first bought em but at today's prices, stay away. Lot of better tires for the price. These do fit a nice niche though, where they have an aggressive looking tread and sidewall but are still a quiet, comfortable street tire. Switched to Toyo Open Country ATs and these have started noisier and ride rougher than the wasted Falkens did. Remains to be seen if I can live with that for long, or if this will be an excuse to step up to 18s next year
